Nice hotel with nice & helpful staff. On site parking which is a plus for Taormina. Five minute walk into town--great atmosphere and lovely gardens & Greek amphitheater. The staff was very nice and accommodating-they helped me with tours, restaurants and driving directions. Really comfortable bed. The furnishings are a bit old fashioned, but clean and tidy.

Tradionally styled hotel situated a few minutes walk from Bus Station and Cable Car. The location is ideal for walking to main centre and Corso Umberto in under 10 minutes where a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, bars can satisfy every taste and stylish shops tempt your wallet.

Our room had a sea view, was spacious and had a good sized bathroom and fresh supply of towels each day. Mini bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap were provided and a useful sewing kit. A wall mounted flat screen tv had BBC World News and CNN channels with excellent screen clarity and sound. A stocked mini bar is provided with bottled water, beers, wine and soft drinks. A small bottle of water from the mini bar cost 1.50 euros and a small can of beer 3.50 euros. Our room had 3 spare electrical wall sockets which were ample for charging phones etc. Wall insulation could be better as we did hear people in room above and next room also.

Buffet breakfast provided a selection of breads, cheese, ham, eggs, fruit, yogurts and croissants, donuts and cake. The coffee was 'industial strength' and of a very thick consistency so we asked for a jug of hot water each morning and this certainly helped! An evening menu is available at current price of 22 euros and had to be selected in advance during breakfast. We didn't have dinner at the hotel and preferred to go out and choose from the many restaurants in the streets off the Corso Umberto. We did have lunch at pool bar terrace a few times and a couple of toasted sandwiches, a beer and glass of wine cost between 19 - 25 euros.

The pool area is kept very clean but the water was cold for swimming and I would guess that it would take another month for the chill to disappear. During our stay sunbeds were always available as people come and go, some guests staying for a couple of days and travelling on and others for a week or two.

WiFi was free for the entire duration of our stay and I found coverage good in all areas of the hotel including pool area.

Hotel staff very polite and hard working with Fabiola on Reception very helpful and friendly.

I would not recommend the hotel to anyone with walking difficulties as there are a lot of steps and steep curving driveway down to Reception but we managed although our legs did get a good workout every day!

We enjoyed our stay at the Sirius as we found it to be an ideal base for accessing the main centre of Taormina where music can be heard every evening in restaurants, bars and on the street. Taormina is a delight and we were not disappointed as it was everything we expected and more!

We have recently returned from an excellent stay at the lovely Hotel Sirius.
The Sirius isn't a big grand hotel where no one knows who you are, instead it's fairly small and distinctly quirky- but in a good way. The hotel is set into the side of a cliff, so you arrive at the top floor and go down to your room and the pool. The restaurant is just down from reception and puts on a great self service breakfast. All the usual continental pastries, hams, cheeses, salami, breads etc together with an excellent fresh fruit salad and somewhat strangely scrambled eggs. If you are staying half board you order your dinner at breakfast. This ensures that you get whet you want and there is no waste. Just three selections of starter and main course. The starters are an anti pasta, a pasta or a risotto. Each was different everyday with repetition for our week. The mains were always a choice of fish, chicken or meat. The fish was always excellent. This isn't haute cuisine, but good home coked Italian food. Excellent. Food is brought up to the dining room from several floors down on an old dumb waiter.

We had lunch several times at the pool bar where the salads and antipasti were light , tasty and filling.

The hotel was absolutely spotless throughout and the staff extremely friendly. Our room was comfortable and fortunately we had booked a sea view. We have now found out which rooms have the best view and will request one of those when we return!

This hotel is worth the 4 star rating if you can get a good view. We had an excellent one - our balcony overlooked the coastline. The rooms are clean, but they are a bit tired. The bathroom is reminiscent of the 1980s, the beds were like sleeping on the tile floor, and the bedspreads were faded. But who cares what the room is like when you can just sit in a chair on the balcony and watch the boats. That was incredible. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable and, as noted in previous reviews, the hotel is halfway down a very steep hill. But, in fairness, Taormina is on a hill so it's hard to visit without getting a workout in the process. The hike helps offset the excellent food. I would much rather have stayed at this hotel than one of the ones right on the busy main street - it's madness there with all of the crowds. The Sirius was a lot quieter.

Clean comforable rooms, good sized swimming pool (unheated) on a terrace overlooking the sea, offering fabulous panoramic views. All the staff were friendly welcoming and helpful. Our breakfast was good with a varied selection of food. The hotel is within 10 minutes walking distance of the village but here is the rub. If you have mobility problems for whatever reason walking out of the hotel could be difficult as you nave to climb a number of steps to the car park and then walk up a very steep and twisty drive before you reach the main road.

We spent a couple of nights in this hotel, and it was a really good choice.

The location is ideal to discover Taormina: it's within walking distance of the lovely Corso Umberto and of the Teatro Greco, and the hotel has a car park, which is ideal if you come by car, as there is simply nowhere to park in Taormina.

The staff was very welcoming and very friendly, and the service is great.

The room itself was very quiet and had a lovely view from the balcony, so it was very relaxing. You also have fabulous views from the bar terrace and the breakfast area.

And Taormina is simply beautiful!

The Sirius has enormous terraces with fabulous views to the north of Taormina - really beautiful. Our room was huge, with an enormous bathroom that included a bath. It also had a lovely terrace with views although no view from the room itself ( extra for that). The breakfast was good, with cereals, fruit salad, yogurts and good fresh pastries. No fresh juice though which was slightly disappointing given the number of orange trees around! The restaurant was closed for dinner as it was winter when we stayed. A slight downside was that the decor was quite old fashioned and over the top ornate. Everything clean and neat and staff were good. Wifi would not work for me on the bottom floor where our room was. All in all a good stay but I would rate the hotel as mor 3 star than 4 star.
