“Lovely elegant Hotel in beautiful location.”
Reviewed 14 August 2012

Just spent 11 wonderful days in this hotel. It is not your 5* modern plush but a most wonderful elegant, serene older style hotel.
Sea view room is a must (we were in Room 416) and as this was at end of hotel we had seaview plus side view of Mt. Etna.
The room service was second to none, daily change of bed linen, towels changed twice daily morning and evening, plentiful supply of toiletries, nice spacious room with good wardrobe space and cleaned immacutely.
The view from the balcony is breathtaking morning and evening, and at evening time you can hear the piano playing from the restraunt.
The breakfast is great with plenty of choice and can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors.
And there is nothing more enjoyable after breakfast but to go to library area at recption to have a quick read of daily paper.
I agree the price of eating at evening is very expensive at the restraunt but it is wonderful and 5*
The pool area and staff are again excellent but a little pricey and while it can be full of people it never felt crowded.
The walk to Taorimina is as described and it is a beautiful place to eat, shop and people watch.
Last but not least the reception staff are excellent ,courteous, helpful and totally professional as indeed all staff.
Can not wait to return. I have to say it was one of the most relaxing hotels I have stayed in.

This hotel deserves all 5 of it's well earned stars, the staff were so friendly, they recommended the most wonderful restaurants. Breakfast is served on the terrace, which has breathtaking views. They offer a great shuttle service into and from the town and beach, they are always just a phone call away.
This hotel is superb and Taormina is so very pretty and the locals are very friendly.
After reading some of the reviews I was concerned that I had not made the right choice - but although the hotel is very grand - the staff make you feel at home from the moment you arrive and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
We took a hike up to Mount Etna - which was AMAZING.

This hotel lives up to its 5 star billing, set high up on side of the mountain with uninterupted views out to sea and Mt Etna in background. Hotel staff polite and friendly without being effusive and any query was handled promptly and efficiently. Our rooms 302/304 had inter-connected door and the same on spacious balcony which caught the morning sun but pleasantly shaded in late afternoon. The room was immaculate and daily cleaning/refreshing of a high standard. Breakfast is taken on a delightful terrace with sea view. The breakfast selection was sufficient with lovely pastries etc. The only downside to this hotel is the cost of eating in if you chose to, the quality might have been top class but would lack ambience as Taormina main boulevard is only a pleasant 5-10 mins stroll with many great resaurants to choose from, so most residents ate out. Despite this visitors to this hotel will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Rooms 302-306 have excellent views, 4th and 5th floors even better

After a week of wonderful Sicilian scenery, indulging in fabulous food and staying in four and five star lodging we wondered what could be next and how could it top what we had seen, eaten and stayed? Well then there is Taormina and the San Pietro!

The welcoming and warmth we had felt from the very start in Sicily was continued in this beautiful hotel, it's marvelous location and though Taormina is a visitors mecca, it didn't have the feel of being too touristy. With shopping and restaurants everywhere, plus an abundance of over the top landscapes it is a very special place to visit and hope to return to in the future!

From your room's terrace at the San Pietro you overlook the Mediterranean. The hotel is perched halfway up the side of a seaside cliff, with beaches below and a short 10 minute walk up the hill to the gates of the city, Portal Messina. From the hotel you see Mt. Etna clearly to the south. When you get to the city you have sights everywhere, but especially the Greek Theatre and one of the most magnificent views you will ever take in.

The San Pietro, besides it's location, has great facilities and service! Personnel are well trained and serving you is their priority. Breakfast on the terrace, also overlooking the sea, were excellent and worth the extra time while you enjoy another cup of tea or glass of prosecco. The pool area is a centerpiece for the recreational facilities, and again excellent service and attention without the staff ever being too forward or pushy.

A special hotel in a wonderful town to visit. Place both the San Pietro and Taormina on your bucket list!

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room facing the sea. After nightfall you can see the twinkling lights of mainla...

We stayed for one cloudless week in July. The hotel has a perfect location over the local bays with superb views. The interior of the hotel is smart and the outside terrace, dining area and pool are perfect. In contrast to some of the earlier grumpy reviewers we found all the staff charming, helpful, informed and friendly. Dining both at lunch in the smaller al-fresco restaurant and in the evening in the elegant terrace was as enjoyable as we have experienced with first class food and as good a selection of local and other wines as you could ever want. This is a perfect spot for an elegant and luxurious stay in Taormina. We will be back!

We had 7 night stay for the first week in July. Third trip to the town but first stay at this hotel and it was all that we wanted it to be. We have seen some neagative comments about staff but they were all excellent, accommodation was spacious, balconies great (we had an end room) and would recommend the lido at the sister hotel particularly as the transfer arrangements were outstanding. Wil be back.

Thank you San Pietro.

Beautiful location on the coast, clean with elegant decor but rude staff. Impossible to get a coffee before 7.30 a.m. Breakfast is always late. Arrogance of the staff is very unusual for Italy. A good place to go to see aristocratic snobbery in action.

Room Tip: Seaside 6th floor
