The Mediterranee is superbly situated. A 5 minute walk from the town and the view from the terrace is spectacular: Mount Etna and the bay. Very clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. My room was more than adequate, the pool was great and when I wanted to go to the sea there was a shuttle from the hotel twice a day to their sister Hotel on the beach. Did an excursion with Etnapeople and would definitely do it again. All in all a great place to stay and visit Taormina.

Room Tip: There was no wifi in the room but was accessible in the lounge. Also, private parking.

The hotel is slightly dated but this only adds to the charm.
We stayed half board and as most guests were bed and breakfast, we had excellent service for our evening meals. There was a choice of 4 starters and 4 main meals and whilst the quantity of the main meal was not great, the quality was excellent. They also catered for my wife's gluten allergy.
Pluses are a relaxing pool with great views of Etna,no reserved sun beds, free parking, the location and excellent friendly staff. Also, there is the option of using the sunbeds on the beach at the sister hotel, however, beach peddlers there are a bit of a nuisance. The bar and terrace could be more lively, however, try the local bar Carp Diem for some excellent cocktails at reasonable prices.

Room Tip: Wifi only available in the lounge. Ask for a sea view and balcony-you will not be disappointed.

Amazing views. Ah-Maze-ing! Very good service and on-site parking (sorry, folks, it isn't "free" - it is "included in the price"). I imagine that in the Dolce Vida era, this was a gem, with its amazing views... but I don't think that anything has been updated since then. Fortunately, we were just there to sleep and the bed was perfectly comfortable, the location was convenient and it gives us a good story to bring home. The glass chandeliers are to die for, in a "heehee, so cute" kind of way.
All that said, we slept great, it was convenient to walk to town, it was nice and quiet and the views...

All rooms have large sunny balconies with sea view so everyone gets the same fantastic view of the coastline and Mount Etna. The staff were excellent - friendly and always offered to help. Free car parking is a bonus as not many Taormina hotels have this and only 5 minutes from the town centre. Sure, the furniture and fittings are old, but everything works and the room rates are half what you pay at one of the more swish hotels.

How is possible that this hotel is rated as 4 stars hotel. 2+ is the correct one.
Everything is old ,old , better not to tough so things will not go apart.
Bathroom is for the people who prefer parfume then shower.
Kitchen towels in the bathroom are not right placed.
Poor brekfest, but the view from the hotel quite fantastic.
Very expensive view !

Four of us in two rooms had a great stay here. We booked the sea view rooms and they each had a large patio with fantastic views of the town and the sea. There is good parking at the hotel but best advice is leave the car there for the whole of your stay and walk everywhere. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was quite good. There are so many good restaurants in Taormina that they tend to be preferred over other meals at the hotel. The hotel itself is clean, wifi works but drops out a bit and the building is a bit tired.

Overall because of the staff, the position and the views we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Make sure you book the sea views.

Me and my husband spend 3 weeks in this hotel and we really enjoyed it. Yes, like many people say its old-fashioned, but it has its own charm and the rooms were VERY clean. We got a room with a balcony with the sea view which is really amazing - u can see the Etna and the sea. The pool is really nice and big and also has a great view.
The hotel is just 5 min walk to the main street with many bars, restaurants, shops etc. But there are quite a few steps, so be aware. The parking is free which is really good for Taormina. The staff is really nice and very friendly - always there to help u, tell about places to go etc. Breakfast was good, basic but u can find anything u want. As the hotel situated on the hill and far from the sea they provide the sea access at their other hotel - Lido Mediterranee, which is easy to get by the car. They also provide shuttle service, but we didn't use it cause we had a rental car.
I would recommend this place to my friends and will definitely stay there again.
