“Wondeful visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2013

We had a wonderful visit to Villa di Piazzano. My only complaint is that I wish we had a few more days to enjoy it more since it is so beautiful and relaxing!! Staff was terrific, helpful and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful. Dinner was spectacular. We enjoyed the small atmosphere where we could relax a bit, plus we were able to meet and chat with the other guests. Can't wait to go back some day soon.

The staff was very helpful and friendly with our baby. We recieved some good tipps and adivce for visiting the region. The food was delicious and authentic. A beautiful garden and romantic bedrooms. We hope that we can come again.

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail. My husband and I and another couple stayed here for 2 nights in Oct. It is a lovely spot with beautiful rooms (they gave us an upgrade upon checking in) and fabulous bathroom, superior common rooms, inviting pool, gardens and grounds, warm and cozy dining room with excellent buffet breakfast and gourmet dinner, accommodating and friendly staff, clean, charming, totally top notch!! The extra touch of a laid out table in our room with napkins, plates, silverware and fruit, plus fresh roses in the folded bathrobes on the bed were not lost on us. We loved this place and highly recommend it. We couldn't find a single fault.

A truly lovely hotel... just outside of Cortona... a very warm and friendly staff makes this Inn just that much nicer.. rooms were really terrific... as well as the food.. The bar with outside seating was a wonderful place to relax after a long day riding the back roads of the countryside.

A short drive into the city centre for walking and shopping... and also great food. Cortona is a beautiful city indeed. Villa di Piazzano made it just that much nicer.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room in the hotel...

This former Cardinal's hunting lodge is historic, calm, tranquil and located in the middle of wine country. Charming staff, FABULOUS breakfast, lunch and dinner. Normally, I'm not a fan of hotel food - but this place was wonderful, and reasonably priced. Cortona 20 minutes way. Assisi about 30 minutes. There is a pool, but not heated. Free parking, large grounds with sunflowers in surrounding fields. Try to go to this hotel late August or early September to see the field of sunflowers. We had an especially beautiful room, with fruit basket awaiting us. Nearby grocery stores, lots of wine selections to take back to Hotel. They will arrange wine and cooking tours.

Quiet, peaceful, gorgeous setting. Between stays in Venice and Rome, this was a perfect balance to relax and recharge. The GPS we had got confused as you close in, so ensure you have good directions with you for the last half mile. Once you traverse the cyprus lined access lane, you are transported into a wonderfully renovated villa with large newly and very beautifully decorated rooms – the mix of old and new blended perfectly. While the property goes back hundreds of years, the amenities are all modern. Be sure to take advantage of an absolutely outstanding breakfast buffet, and the dinner we had was magnificent. Chef has her own garden on the property. Staff was the most pleasant and accommodating you will find anywhere in Italy. The mountainside town of Cortona is picture perfect with amazing views, shops, restaurants, best gelato we experienced in ten days. Bring your camera. 1.5 hour train to Florence from Terontola is only 10K (6 mi) away easy to park with a live person at a ticket window. A very good bargain with a top shelf experience.

We have just returned to the UK after spending 8 nights at the Villa di Piazzano.
We booked the hotel after doing a lot of research online, and I've got to say we were not disappointed.
We wanted to stay in an area that was close to Cortona, as we were getting married in their beautiful townhall on the 1st October.
The distance was perfect. Only a ten minute drive, which is very straight forward.
The hotel itself was stunning, inside and out.
It was surrounded by beautiful scenery...rolling hills, fields/trees as far as the eye could see...breathtaking!
On the inside it is decorated to a very high standard, every room has its own character.
On arrival we were shown to our room which we had been upgraded to (it actually made me cry) it was so gorgeous.
For our entire stay the staff were so kind and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.
We were welcomed by flowers in our room everyday, and on the evening of our wedding a bottle of prosecco, rose petals on the bed, even little pots of bubbles in the bathroom were there to greet us. It was these personalised touches that made the whole stay more memorable
I cannot thank the hotel and all the staff enough for their kindness.
We will definitely, without a doubt be visiting the Villa di Piazzano again
This hotel is the best, in our opinion, that you will find in Cortona.
Great food, gorgeous accommodation, lovely area, friendly welcoming staff.
We can't wait to return.
