What a wonderful place to stay! We absolutely loved the "Villa di Piazzano" The grand residence has been wonderfully restored with stunning gardens and spacious rooms all beautifully decorated with a lovely homely feel. The service was personal and very professional and we were looked after very well. The food is amazing, they have a wonderful chef who we got to know even better when we took an Italian Cooking Class which was great fun, a good way to spend the morning followed by a great 4 course lunch. The owners have a great personal touch and love to get to know their guests, we met with them a few times for a chat and a glass of wine. Initially we had booked for 2 nights but stayed on for a third as we felt so much at home! We definitely recommend!

Room Tip: We booked a deluxe double room, it was spacious and had wonderful views.

This is a beautiful building in a beautiful location. The food was excellent. My only (complaint) was that it lacks a bit of a personal touch. The staff, who are helpful and friendly are just a bit aloof. I didn't get that customer intimacy that so many small hotels in this area deliver upon. Please don't take this an an indictment of VDP, I just like the interaction. If you are searching for a beautiful, quiet retreat; this is it.

Dear Guest,

I take your point and I agree with you as also like to interact with our guests and particularly like to exchange words and ideas with people from different parts of the world.....but we somehow missed each other, despite my very long working days and extensive presence on the property. I hope this is perhaps a good omen to have a chance to personally meet you on a future visit to our area.

With many kind regards,

What a lovely country house. Big, airy rooms with beautiful views, large bathroom, comfortable bed, a warm welcome at reception, great breakfast, and quiet country walks. There are lovely antiques scattered throughout the public rooms. All this and you are very close to Cortona and other locales (Assisi) for day trips, or just walks in the countryside. When we were there in April the pool was clean and ready to go. Others were using the pool but it was a bit chilly for us. The restaurant is quite good and there are a variety of welcome snacks put out in the bar before dinner is you wish to kick back with a glass of wine or cocktail.

Room Tip: We reserved a double deluxe on the top floor overlooking the garden--lots of room, quiet

We stayed in Villa di Piazzano in April 2014 for 5 days. The overall experience was fantastic. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt at home. The staff were charming and always available to help. The restaurant had excellent food and a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable and with great decoration. My husband usually cannot stay more than 2 days in hotels; for the first time, he wants to return to this hotel since he felt so comfortable and at home. Thank you to all the staff for this amazing and unforgettable stay in Tuscany.

We have been in Arezzo for the horse jumping and wanted to stay longer, but Arezzo was fully booked. We found the Villa di Piazzano through a booking site and were very surprised about the nice scenery, the wonderful hotel and all around it - the wonderful garden, the pure nature etc. It was very quiet, the breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We checked into the fabulous villa di piazzano today after two weeks in Italy. We have stayed in wonderful hotels but this is heaven in Italy. This property from 1464 was redone in 2001 with no detail spared. We are in a past time cloaked in luxury. At the foot of cortina this manor has only 26
Rooms and feels like we have it to ourselves with a staff cratering to our every wish. The combination of beautiful gardens and amazing interior makes this a must on any trip to Italy.v

A travel helper booked this wonderful villa for us to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It is in the hills outside Cortona, built in the 1400's. Wonderful restaurant also on premises and our meals were included. We were there 2 nights, able to rent bikes there to bike to Lake Tresimino in Umbria and also visit a winery. Great getaway, highly recommend.
