“Best Caffe in Cortona”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

There are certainly no shortage of caffes in Cortona. Most offering similar fare and experience. But, for something a little more unique and refined try Caffe Tuscher. It is conveniently located right on Via Nazionale. It is the ideal spot to sit outside and watch the Cortona parade go by. Service is completely un-intrusive and you can sit for hours and relax.
A family business, Caffe Tuscher is owned by Massimo and his wife Dani. Both of their sons work there as well. They take pride in providing quality food and drinks with a little "extra". The Illy coffee creations are delicious. And, Massimo is a master mixologist. If you don't know what you want, just ask Massimo or Dani and they will choose (or create) just the right thing for you! In the afternoon, aperitivi are accompanied by a generous complimentary plate of appetizers.
When the weather doesn't permit drinking and dining al fresco, they have a spacious restaurant space inside. Also, An upstairs loft is a quiet and cozy place to read or get caught up with email (they have free wifi for customers both inside and outside).

“Vibrant Street Cafe”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

Caffe Tuscher is a real find and we have been eating here for a few years. A vibrant street cafe with an elegant indoor, air conditioned area. On this visit we stopped for lunch and enjoyed sharing an enormous antipasti platter with a wonderful selection of cured meats and delicious cheeses accompanied by a variety of freshly made breads. Excellent selection of wines and fabulous coffee. The service is fast and very friendly
Slight downside is that Caffe Tuscher no longer serves evening meals, which in the past have been a highlight of our holidays.

“Enjoy”
Reviewed 18 July 2013

This was our favourite cafe in Cortona, we enjoyed their breakfast, great coffee and maybe, a jam croissant or poached egg on toast. We didn't have lunch with them, but drinks in the late afternoon offered a good range of cocktails, beer and soft options and came with complimentary, good quality snacks, like cherry tomato and mozzarella bites, olives, proscuitto etc...all nicely presented.
The space itself is impressive, a gorgeous old building with a staircase to a small mezzanine level, interesting windows, nicely and comfortably furnished...and with outdoor seating as well. A lot of thought has gone into this cafe and care is taken with the food, presentation etc. It was also, reasonably priced.
It was nice to sit and relax...before heading out for more sightseeing, shopping etc.

“Brilliant, go no where else”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

I have been going to this cafe for many years, lunch, drinks or just coffee you will get a warm welcome from the family.

When time I first went to Cortona I left my car lights on, and yes, flat battery, Massimo the owner called a garage who came to my rescue and only charged me a nominal amount.

This time my husband forgot to print his boarding pass and yep Massimo to the rescue and it was done in no time.

It's great to sit outside and people watch, with good food or just a drink. You'll enjoy.
