Barbara, Stefano and their family have done an incredible job of making this Tuscan villa such a remarkable place. The grounds are impeccable, the greeting at the gate from Asso their dog and the welcoming warmth from the moment we checked in to the time we left was fantastic. Our apartment was very comfortable and beautiful. We had access to a great barbeque and pool area as well as our own personal kitchen. The area is surrounded by a variety of styles of accommodation from apartments to cabins all which were distinct in its theme. Our cooking class with Barbara and her mother was so much fun and is one of the highlights of my trip. No matter what question you may have Barbara and Stefano went the extra mile to find the answers. A beautiful place with beautiful people, a must for that Tuscan experience. I hope to return some day soon.

I cannot praise Barbara and her brother Stephano enough for their warm welcome and interest in us, as their guests in Tuscany. Their Villa complex is well laid out and not too big to loose its intimacy. Our Villa was a spaceous three bed with beautiful views over the sunflowers and rolling hills. Barbara or Stephano were on site every day if needed, for advice or help on our visit in the area. While sunbathing at the pool one afternoon, Barbara arrived with a lovely basket of tasty pears she picked from her orchard that day. Another morning, she arrived to our villa's with freshly baked lemon cake for us all, still hot from the oven! We thought it was a lovely gesture on both occasions. With regard to the area, the villa is only a 10/15 minute drive to the town of Cortona and many hilltop villages only a half hour away. I would have no hesitation to return to Villa Rosa dei Venti in the future and would certainly recommend it to anyone interested in visiting Tuscany.

Room Tip: Do your research, Tuscany is a big area.

We stayed for the first time at Rosa dei Venti in 2009 and soon decided to go back in 2010. We were so pleased with the excellent location (less than 30 min. from Cortona, one of the nicest 'small' cities in Tuscany and not so crowded as most well known places, excellent restaurants and gelaterias for the kids), the accommodation (we stayed in Grecale and Scirocco, they are just perfect, they really offer everything you need on a holiday) and above all the friendliness and hospitality of Barbara, Stefano and their parents. We enjoyed every minute and when we go back to Tuscany we go back to Rosa dei Venti. I took a cooking class with Barbara and her mother, what a wonderful experience. And at the end of your cooking experience you have dinner with the whole family. Italian hospitatlity at its best. You feel comfortable and at home from the very first minute you arrive at Rosa dei Venti. I recommend the place to everyone who asks me my favourite spots in Tuscany. Worthwhile mentioning: Rosa dei Venti is situated on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, so you can also easily visit a lot of nice places in Umbria (Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, just to mention a few we visited last year). Needless to say: higly recommended ! If you want to know more about Cortona and its surroundings: read the books of Frances Mayes, an American writer who bought a house in Cortona many years ago and describes the renovation and the everyday life in Cortona where she still lives.

This year we went for the 2nd time to Rosa dei Venti. We will certainly go back there. The kindness of the owners, their hospitality, the appartment, the surroundings: Everything is great there.

Absolutely lovely and comfortable. After three weeks of travel in Italy, Villa Rosa dei Venti has the most comfortable beds yet: almost like home. The hosts are welcoming, attentive and helpful with travelling tips in the area. The place is immaculately clean and the appartments well appointed. Our six night stay at the Villa was the very pleasant and relaxing. We don't have any negative criticism whatsoever. It was superbed and surpassed our expectations.

After spending part of our honeymoon here, with our two year old daughter, we reluctantly had to leave after a week. A beautiful place, and a beautiful family, so friendly and welcoming. The accomodation, the swimming pool and the surrounding grounds were spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is the idyllic tuscan countryside. I have nothing but praise for Villa Rosa dei Venti. A perfect haven, for both couples and families.

Our stay at the Rosa dei Venti was a memorable holiday which we have fond memories and pictures to remind us how wonderful it was. The family was truly very hospitable and answered many questions we had of he area. We would definately return to the Rosa dei Venti and recommend it to our friends.
