We were in Cortona for the day and could not get enough of this amazing village. While every turn reveals a postcard scene the truly memorable moments came from within this tiny but beautiful cafe/restaurant. It had just started to rain and my husband and I went in search of somewhere to have a glass of wine. Enoteca Enotria grabbed our eye immediately, enticing us to come a venture inside and see past the amazing store-front windows. We were greeted with warmth and friendliness immediately and the service was fantastic! There is an amazing selection of wines to choose from and by-the-glass - instead of a few pokey selections, there were dozens and dozens. We also had the most amazing wild boar and tomato bruschetta...so divine. The store is a feast for the eyes - countless bottles of gorgeous Italian wines (most local), multicoloured pasta bows, grains, timber barrels filled with small glass jars of honey, olive oils, balsamic vinegars, dried mushrooms, breads, cheeses....the list goes on. There is a small selection of cured meats as well. Incredibly the value is the BEST we've seen in our entire time in Europe. It is exceptionally good value - you will be very surprised. Free WiFi is also available, making the entire experience a fantastic memorable one! Please, you can't visit Cortona without stopping by this gem.

Upon arrival this is the first place we stumbled across. (81 via Nazionale) The prices seemed good so we took a chance. The bruschetta with tomatoes was to die for!So much flavor and yet so simple. Add an excellent vino nobile served in a classy wine glass and what more can a girl ask for....The beer on tap accompanied by the caccia with ham and cheese was a great lunch for the hubby as well.
The enoteca is filled with locals wich seems to me a very good sign. On a second visit we were served by" the parents" Very distinguished gentleman and an entertaining signora...Food still good , restaurant packed again by locals.

My wife and I just completed a weeks stay in Cortona. We could hear patrons talking at Enoteca Enotria after just a few steps from our house. The service was wonderful. We visited daily for Internet and wine. Wine always came with something, peanuts, chips, olives etc. Clearly this is a popular place with the men of the village. There were always a few having drinks during our late afternoon visits. Nice spot to people watch while sitting outside.

We were driving from Bettona to Montalcino and stopped in Cortona as a good mid-point. The town is lovely, and we would have liked to stay for a leisurely meal, but had a wine tasting scheduled at Cassanova di Neri so after enjoying a nice walk around the town we really needed a spot for a quick bite before getting back on the road. Enoteca Enotria looked like just the thing - and it was! There were two ladies working the counter who managed to be friendly and warm to everyone crowding around the counter. Since it was an Enoteca we asked them to recommend the wine for each of our dishes - mine was bruschetta with grilled artichoke hearts and my husband had a prosciutto dish. Both were very tasty & the wines we were recommended complimented them perfectly.

We had arrived in Cortona earlier in the day and were strolling on Via Nazionale, wanting a little something to eat since dinner in Italy is typically later than we're used to. We happened upon this Enoteca and it looked warm and inviting from the street. We were just hoping to do a little wine tasting and have a some small bites. We were treated so kindly by the host. He gave us ample samples of wine and a wonderful assortment of cheeses and meats typical of this region. The bread all by itself was pretty amazing too, so fresh. The price was more than reasonable but honestly it was one of those "priceless experiences". It was just a wonderful afternoon in such a charming Tuscan hill town. Grazie mille!
