Agriturismo Agrisalotto
Certificate of Excellence

We have spent three incredible days at Agrisalotto with a 2 and a 4 year old boys, Agrisalotto is an excellent place to relax with kids in a beautiful Toscana landscape. Simonetta has been incredibly helpful and patient with the children and she and her son Gofreddo have even played soccer with them. We would certainly recommend Agrisalotto.

I am from Australia and have wanted to come to Tuscany for many years, and this place was better than I could have imagined. The first thing that strikes you is how beautifully landscaped and green the grounds are, and it doesn't hurt that vineyards are surrounding the place! The owners Dmitri and Simonetta are so welcoming, and they served us wine from their vineyard (so good) and cheese on arrival in what I like to call the beer garden. There are so many beautiful places to sit and relax on the grounds, including hammocks, and they have music playing in the afternoon which adds to the atmosphere. We ate in their restaurant every night because the food was so good. Dimitri is a wonderful cook and sits down with you to explain the menu and tailor it to what you like. I have coeliac disease and they were excellent in accommodating me. A couple of wine bottles down you can wander back to your Tuscan styled room and have an excellent sleep. Simonetta puts on an amazing breakfast every morning and makes great cappuccinos too. The villa is a fantastic base from which to explore nearby towns. I just left this place a day ago and I'm already missing it! My husband has promised me that we can come back. It would be an excellent place to bring a family because they have bikes, a playground and lots of animals to look at. 5 stars!

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

Located in the middle of the wheat farms of the valley near Cortona this rehabilitated farm house is a wonderful place for couples or families to spend some time. The rooms are comfortable and the location is beautiful. The owners Dimetri and Simonetti are full time owners and managers. The lawns a well maintained and the rose gardens are wonderful. The inground pool and Loggia is a great place to relax. There are bikes for riding the country lanes and there ts a collection of animals for the youngsters to watch. The breakfast is included and the coffee is fresh and a bottomless cup unlike many places in Europe. The evening meals are served in their beautiful restaurant and the menu is full of specialities including their vegetarian anti pasta and locally grown beef (steaks).

Room Tip: If you want more room ask for the apartment rooms on the second floor. They have their own kitchen a...

Simonetta and Dimitri run an absolutely magical b&b just outside of Cortona, Tuscany, Italy. If there any downside, it's that it's a bit hard to find the first time you drive there. However, once there, it's about as perfect as it can get. The accommodations are lovely, the grounds gorgeous, and the food is sublime. Plan to have dinner, and if it's in season, order the ravioli with truffles - OMG!!! And the chiana beef melts in your mouth (and this from someone who doesn't normally eat beef). From here, we've made day trips to Arezzo, Assisi, Cortona, and still have a few more to go. We wouldn't hesitate to return here, or recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Tuscany.

Room Tip: We chose an apartment, so we had a separate kitchen/dining area in which we could store snacks, etc.

If you're looking to experience agriturismo in Italy, look no further - it doesn't get better than this. We had an amazing week at the Agrisalotto with our 2 young children (6 and 4) thanks to the warm hospitality of Simonetta and Dimitri. The accommodation is beautiful - well equipped, comfortable rooms and a garden that is paradise for adults and children alike. The food is wonderful and Dimitri is clearly passionate about his restaurant. With a car you're well placed to visit Cortona, Siena, Florence and the surrounds. None of us wanted to leave.

We had trawled Toscana and Umbria on Tripadvisor for a good place and ended up with Agrisalotto due to the very good reviews. We were not disappointed.
From the moment we arrived on the wrong day (daddy had got the dates one week wrong) we felt very welcome and the re-booking was quickly taken care of by Simonetta.
The place is stunning both inside and outside. The grounds are perfect for kids to run around in, if they are not checking out the turtles, guinea pigs, goats, the playground or swimming pool (with a shallow section with anti-slip floor).
Inside, in the restaurant, rooms, toilets and hallways, there are hundreds/thousands of beautiful things thoughtfully arranged. Prints, paintings, stones, baskets, bottles, furniture; old and new. At night everything is quiet and the view from the top floor over the Toscana countryside and the night sky is divine.
We regrettably only stayed 3 nights, but during that time we got to sample the great kitchen at Agrisalotto. The antipasti are great little nuggets of local pies, quiches, cheeses, meats and vegetables, while the primi's consists of a great selection of delicious pastas of which the one with orange and the truffle are superb. The sliced Chianini beef was heavenly.
If you like to exercise, bikes are for you to use and bicycle paths are endless.
Agrisalotto is highly recommended.

Room Tip: I would try the ground floor next time!

The warmth of Simonetta and Dimitri is incredible! We asked about getting some wine and a few minutes later, Simonetta showed up with a tray of Tuscan delicacies.... and wine!! The room was ample, quiet, and had nice views of the countryside. The little kitchenette is well equipped. The bathroom is quite modern. The restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing!! Don't miss it!!! The breakfast was a simple continental but delicious!! I ate so much I skipped lunch!!
They have a few farm animals and a playground that my kids LOVED! They produce their own olive oil, wines, and meat and it shows!!!!
We had a few issues, but we never brought them up, so we are to blame too. We had no internet at the room, although we had a reservation that included free wifi. We didn't have hot water. We stayed one night, so it was not a big deal not to shower, but had we stayed more.....We didn't get any Sky channels, just digitale terrestre. That was VERY dissapointing since our kids are not fluent in Italian and would have liked English speaking shows.
In spite of that, we'd be back in a heartbeat....and we probably will!!! Highly recommend!!!
