“Great hotel for a low cost”
Reviewed 13 January 2014 via mobile

Hotel Piccadilly is an excellent budget priced hotel. Although not a short way from the Duomo, it is a quite convenient straight wall
Rooms are plain but clean, breakfast is basic but good and the owner and staff extremely helpful
The Hilton it is not, but value for money - excellent

We stayed for 1 night on 14th september.
Let me start with +s
a) Front desk Manager was very helpful - contradictory to what other travellers have said below.
He helped us plan our stay and places to visit.
b) Breakfast was good for this price range of hotels Others offer shared bathroom at this price.
c) Room was very big.
d) Hotel reception is at 1 floor and a lift is available for luggage and baby stroller.

-ves
a) BED BUGS .. my daughter was bitten all over the face.
b) Wifi - 5 euros - only availble in reception - Do not bother to buy this it would not work in rooms
c) Room tip - DO NOT take Room 205 - you feel like sleeping on road - Windows for this room open to the road and you can hear loud noices of people partying late in night. I think there is noise insulation issue.
d) Bathroom -only 1 small soap for ALL members !!!
e) Bathroom had spots of dampness

would not recommend this stay. If possible spend a little extra and stay elsewhere

Room Tip: do not chose room 205.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The location is great! everything is within walking distance

The staff was average. Although this one lady was very very helpful. Manager was disinterested. The room was a good size. We got an upgrade. Bathroom was pathetic! The worst of them all was when I asked for the AC remote- he told me it was for an EXTRA CHARGE and I'd have to adapt to Florene weather! NONSENSE! Wifi wasn't included. Breakfast was absolute rubbish. Thank god they had cold cuts!

Will never stay here again!

Room Tip: Dont stay here!

This was a very bad experience. The hotel's location is great, but this is its only plus. The rooms are cold and very basic. One miniature bar of soap for your entire stay, sheets are not changed, no matter how long your stay is. Customer service, non existent. Unfriendly manager. He seemed always bothered by any question asked. Breakfast not worth having, stale bread and bad coffee. There was no attendant at the front desk at most times. Anyone could walk from the street and break into the rooms. No safe in the room. Hotel is not responsible for any theft is posted in the lobby. The place smells like an ashtray. What a horrible place. I would rather pay a little more and have a better experience.

Room Tip: Read the reviews carefully, the pictures are deceiving. Don't stay in this hotel!

Hotel was very stingy with towels (felt like tablecloths); soap; food, and maps. We had 3 staying in our room; had to beg for a 3rd towel. No handtowels or washcloths provided. Soaps are very small and you only get 1 per room. No bath mat, our bathroom floor flooded every time we took a shower. I was very worried would slip and fall on tile and hit head on toilet. Breakfast was very minimal; cold cuts, bread and corn flakes. No fruit or eggs/bacon. could not close windows tight, old shutters - so very noisy due to busy street. Never again!

Biggest complaint is wi fi. You have to pay for it per day, and it's not bad when you can get it BUT it does not work in many rooms (tried with Android, iPhone and iPad). You have to stand out in a common area to get a signal. Walk down the corridor to my room and lose the signal at my door. Travelling in a group of 21 and the majority of us have the same problem. Breakfast is VERY lean pickings. If you're 6 feet or taller you WILL bump your head on the bathroom door. No shower mat on the tile floor and the bathroom is so narrow you have to sit sideways on the toilet. The beds are hard and and if you are a light sleeper you will have a hard time getting to sleep as sound bounces around and reverberates off the hard walls. I could go on but you get the idea. Rooms are clean and staff is nice but will not come back as I would like more amenities. That's the general consesus of our group.

Stayed recently for 3 nights and I can say the hotel is not worth 1 star let alone 2!! I know it was cheaper than most hotels but still not worth the money. The room was dirty not cleaned in three days we were there, towels were like dish clothes, no hot water, bed was two mattresses pushed together always coming apart. The day before we checked out we asked if we could keep the room a bit longer but they said they were to busy (which is fair enough) but we asked if we could pay extra to have a shower before we left and they said no. The day we left they kept the luggage for us in a very unsecure place under the stairs where anyone can pass, we asked to use the bathroom and when we went inside there was a shower, when we asked why we could not have paid extra to use it they were very rude and said that it was the only toilet they had and they could'nt let us use it not to keep the bathroom occupied!!!! Sorry but how long does a shower take!!!! The breakfast was also very bad, hard bread and yoghurt some chocolate spread piece of ham and cheese and very bad coffee!!!! Wont be back ever!!!

Room Tip: Don't stay here pay extra and find better!!
