I definitely recommand this B&B. We spent 3 great nights! The rooms are very nice : very clean, you have enough space, a private bathroom. The furniture was modern with a pretty fresco in the ceiling. The breakfast is good, and you can have free wifi access. The location is also great : in a small calm street, but only 5 to 10 min far from the duomo, you can visit all the city center walking from the B&B. But the main asset of the Seggiole is your HOSTESS : Ulrika ! A very warm welcome when we arrived, and she already prepared a city map with tips and tricks to visit the city (places to see, bars, gelateria...). She was always eager to help us and recommend new things, and always with a bright smile. We'll definitely go again there if we ever go to Firenze again!!

The 6 nights we spent here were wonderful. The owners (Ulrika and Fabio) are extremely hospitable and make you feel right at home without being too intrusive. Our room was directly facing the entry door to the place and spacious enough for us to feel comfortable during our stay. It had a firm but comfortable bed, 2 nightstands, an armoire with a couple of shelves, and a small table and chair. The room opened to a small street overlooking a private apartment’s garden patio on the floor below. The bath was compact but functional. The WiFi worked effectively.

Breakfast was served in a central room seating 10 people with an assortment of breads (some packaged and some fresh), yogurt, cereal one morning, a couple of juices, and fresh coffee. Breakfast was served at 08:30 but the morning we departed, they were gracious in accommodating us at 08:00.

The place is pretty quiet except for the young party goers on weekends who seem to like to hear their voices echo around buildings on adjacent streets. While the room had triple-glazed windows and blocked all but the most egregious noises, we found using a white noise app on our cell phone allowed a completely peaceful uninterrupted night’s sleep on these party nights.

The location of the B&B is excellent with an easy walk to several restaurants and sights. There is a laundromat less than 100 meters from the B&B which costs 3.5 euro to wash and 3.5 euro to dry. We had some good meals at several places recommended by Ulrika, including Il Teatro (just down the street from the B&B), Trattoria Borgo Antica (on Piazza Santo Spirito), I Due Fratellini (a stand-up sandwich shop), and Trattoria Mario (near Mercato Centraal).

We love this place because of its location, good value (85 euro/night for a double en suite), and comfortable environment. But what really makes it feel a like a home away from home is Ulrika. Don’t pass this place up. We’ll certainly be back.

Can be a good option in Florence.
Good location, near everything. Nice Atmosphere: owners, as well as the Peruvian girl, are very nice. Everything is very clean and even if room was a bit small, you have all the necessary: a correct bathroom, a TV (very small but there is one!), free WIFI...
The worse thing is breakfast: little choice and poor quality of the products.

The owner Ulrika was very friendly and helpful - she provided maps and recommended places to visit and restaurants to eat at. The room rate was very reasonable and included a continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi (strong signal within the room). Room was spacious, clean and tidy.

There are 2 flights of stairs to get to the B&B but the stairs are not too steep (just be aware if you have large luggages). There is also a laundromat nearby if you need to get your laundry done. The Ponte Vecchio is a 5 minute walk away whilst the Firenze SMN train station is around a 20 minute walk away (unless you have luggage you should then allow 30 minutes).

Great location, near a piazza but hidden enough not to be bothered by street noise. When we arrived, the housekeeper was rushing to get to mass so we had to quickly lug our luggage up the stairs to the apartment, about 2 flights (not sure if there was a lift, but we had backpacks so it wasn't too bad. Might be a problem if you have big/heavy luggage). If you are coming in and out in the evening time, make sure you flick the switch for the building just inside the entrance and outside the apartment door, otherwise you'll stumble around in the dark as we did before we figured it out!

Our room was the end unit on the left, which is good since you only hear one neighbour beside you (I think you can hear them if they are talking loudly in the bathroom). The room was average size, with simple decor. But it felt very clean. Bed size was good and the mattress was firm. We found outlets on each side of the bed, which was useful. Blankets, linens and towels were good.

Bathroom was a bit on the small side but functional. There's little counter space above the sink. Shower size is ok (you get a shower curtain), but the water pressure of the shower isn't very strong. An irking thing was that the light switch is on the opposite side of the door handle, so you always have to remember to reach over to turn the light on before opening the door. Weird thing is that even after you turn off the light, the fan continues to run for a few minutes before a loud stopping stutter. The hair dryer is very good.

That first night, my impression of Le Seggiole was just average. But the hospitality we experienced the next day upped that impression. The next morning, when we came out for breakfast, we were greeted by Ulrika (one of the B&B owners), who was absolutely wonderful. She offered us hot tea/coffee and we chatted for a bit before the other guests started showing up for breakfast. Breakfast wasn't anything special but it was decent - there was coffee/tea that she brewed, hot milk available, fresh juice, fresh bread, packaged muffins, jams, etc. When we were done, we settled the remainder of the balance immediately since we had to leave early the next morning to catch our train. She offered to come in earlier to provide breakfast. It was very sweet of her but we politely declined. When we returned to our room that night, we found she had left us some breakfast items on the table (packaged muffins and juice boxes) and a lovely little note wishing us a happy journey. We were very touched by her hospitality. The room was ok but the location and hospitality is what I'd come back to Le Seggiole for.

Perfect location, lovely host and hostess, and everyone else seems to have been very satisfied with their room. If you are offered the room with the bathroom and desk on one level and the bedroom up some stairs, you should know that (1) the stairs are steep and wind up with a skinny railing on one side (2) the view from the window is into the central airs haft, with laundry lines and (3) upstairs from the bedroom is the kitchen of the family above, where chairs are moving, children are clomping, and dishes are clattering around 7 am during the week. Also, when you arrive at the address, the B&B is two long stories up from street level and there is no elevator/lift. Some people apparently delight in the split-level room (oh, there are also about 5 steps down into the room from the entry door), esp young couples, I'm told. But again, the hosts are very nice and helpful and apologized for the inconvenience to this 60+ single lady who did not expect such a lot of lugging herself and baggage up and down so many stairs. Bed was solidly comfortable, place is clean, the made espresso in the morning and gave a nice little map with some restaurant suggestions.

Room Tip: Be sure you understand what you're getting into if you are offered the room with the stairs up t...
