“Tasty, but not sooo special, as the crowds might indicate”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

We showed up here just before it opened one weeknight and there were already 10+ people waiting to get in. Most had reservations. We thought it a good sign. First we had a antipasto/charcuterie platter. The sopressata was NOT what we expected. Very homemade with lots of chunks of a variety of things that were not meat. That threw us off a little. Of course, for the cooperata (cover charge, usually around 2E at most places) you receive bread. It is usually not very delicious bread, and this place was no exception. The pasta we had was cooked and seasoned nicely. The meatballs we had were tasty, but maybe slightly dry. I would go here again.

“Worth a Visit!”

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and is definitely worth trying! It was extremely busy and a reservation was very helpful. Good service and great food....the Steak Florentine was absolutely delicious!

“Excellent, Authentic Taste”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

This restaurant seems to be a tourist destination as I believe it was all non-Italians in the restaurant, but the quality and authenticity of the meal was top-notch. We were able to try Papa al Pomodoro, and had some delicious Tuscan beef. The house wine was outstanding. The waiters spoke English which was nice. I felt like we were able to have a true Italian meal while feeling comfortable as Americans who didn't speak much Italian. Make sure to get reservations - we were able to call a couple of hours before - but they do fill up.

“Good each and every time”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Our strategy when dining in foreign lands is to follow the locals who look happy. It's worked for decades and it really worked in Florence.
We noticed locals lined up outside this small family run establishment patiently and happily chatting as they waited to get in.
We joined them on our first day in Florence and after an amazing dining experience-- terrific sense of hospitality, friendly service, friendly owner/sons, delicious food and wine we were FANS!
We had other amazing meals in Florence but wound up back at Del Fagioli three times because of the whole "experience" they offered. This is a very small rustic restaurant and you are seated family style, which we loved. We had fun practicing our Italian with the very patient locals we sat with. Even when we spoke english and they spoke italian we had a grand time!
We were happy with each meal and wish this fine family would move to Atlanta!
As a person who loves cooking I remain awestruck that such a TINY little kitchen (smaller than one in my home!) is able to produce food for so many people.
