“Fine hostel”
Reviewed 24 April 2012

Located 10 minutes away from the train station, it's pretty central. It's a 20-minute walk to the Duomo.

We booked a double private room, and what we got was a bunk bed with the bottom being big enough for 2 and a single on top. This was annoying because we didn't want a bunk bed overhead. The bed wasn't very comfortable.

The room was pretty clean but the bathroom had a hair in it from a previous occupant. It did have a hair dryer. The shower had good temperature and pressure.

The wifi, while free, was very spotty - it only worked in one part of the room.

The walls are thin, so you can hear what's going on out in the halls and some conversations in the rooms next to yours - but it's hostel - people are partying, that's okay.

The bartenders are very friendly and drink prices are low. The food is so-so, we got burgers and they weren't good.

The travel desk was in disarray while we stayed, and kept giving us the hard sell on their tours. They're pricey, so be careful getting pulled in. Don't buy on the spot, take some time to decide.

For the price of accomodation and the alternatives in Florence, it worked.

I stayed here for 2 nights in April 2012. It was reasonably priced compared to other accommodations in Firenze, and the location wasn't bad either. You can easily walk to the major highlights within 10 or 15 minutes, and it's close to the main train station.

Likes: clean rooms, clean bathrooms, location, free wifi, restaurant on premises

Dislikes: so big that it lacks some atmosphere, laundry is a bit expensive (3,50 euros for wash, same for dryer), wifi can be frustrating, maybe they need more routers?

I would stay there again if I was going back to Firenze. It was worth it.

I've never styled in a hostel before so this was a new thing or me, I was pleasantly surprised. The location was good, it is very central to the main tourist spots. I never ate there but I'm told the food was good and you got a huge amount by a friend who was also staying. The pool area was fantastic and well looked after. The travel desk was helpful and booked tickets for our friends to see David with only an hour notice. The front desk, however, was overloaded at checkout so try to do it early. The only downside was our second night, we got neighbours who were having a party in the dorm room and unfortunately I'd become I'll and really just wanted to sleep. But for the price, I'd definitely consider staying again.

The Place itself was nice. Nice lobby and pool and lounge areas. We stayed in a 7 person room, there were 7 of us traveling together so we didnt need to share with anyone, which was nice. The rooms were rather dark and dingy though. I kept getting a scent of urine from my bottom bunk and the rooms were very cold. They only give you one blanket and sheets and the mattress is very uncomfortable so are the pillows. The bathrooms were nothing to write home about either, there was good water pressure that's about all. I would suggest if you chose to stay here to bring your own towel to avoid paying 3.50 to borrow one. I was rather uncomfortable in the room itself but the rest of the place was pretty well kept. The staff was also very nice and helpful.

Room Tip: I heard the 8 person room was much larger and has a kitchen, if you can muster up 8 people it sounds...

Great hostel with a swimming pool and the option of 'girls only' dorms for a small price extra. We paid the extra, not worth it at all for a measly goody bag and mirror in the room... Rooms werent very spacious, and very hot and stuffy during August. Bathroom was modern and clean. Lift available. More like a hotel. Paid around £25 each per night for a 6 bed girls only dorm. Quite central to shops and restaurants, about ten mins walk from the train station. Staff werent overly friendly or helpful.

Florence is my favourite city in Italy and this hostel added to the experience. Clean, cheap and so much fun. Really good for meeting new people...the bar down stairs is always having a party! Sauna, swimming pool and roof terrace...all incredible. Awesome location and offers excursions for really decent prices. Loved it.

Room Tip: If your a girl, definitely stay in the PLUS girls rooms, little bit of extra comfort if you've b...
