We had seen kilometric queues in this small focaccia shop, and wondered what was the big hype. So in a very rare occasion the shop was empty, we decided to give it a try. The sandwich is exceptional for sure: very tasty, good quality and huge for the price (half a sandwich was enough for a light lunch). But then again, it is just a sandwich, so I don't think I would stand the looooong queues only for this. If you make a habit to go through this street during all the Florence walking, you might find an ocassion to enter it without long waits.
Howerver it really deserves the 5 stars due to the very good quality/price ratio and the nice guys working there that keep up the good spiritis and funny attitude through all the ordering chaos.
Hint 1: we ate twice here and the second time we went to the shop across the main one, as we had seen it had the same name and the guys were taking the focaccias and some stuff from one to the other. The two shops are actually the same, but the one that looks "newer" has shorter queues.
Hint 2: as we were overwhelmed by the options, we asked the guys to chose for us, and both times we got a focaccia with florentine sausage, peccorino paste and spicy aubergine that was incredible. We don't know if we could have actually have the right to an additional cheese choice or if they were trying to get rid of some product but it was so good that we didn't care. This combination is a very good choice.
