“Amazing Almond (Mandorla) Granita!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

I always take my out-of-town visitors to Carabe' to try their almond granita. It is absolutely delicious, a little piece of heaven!! All of the flavors are sooo yummy, but the almond is the best. The prices are a teensy bit high, but it is worth it! Carabe' is in-between Pz. Annunziata and the Duomo, in Via Ricasoli...it can be easy to miss. Inside it is small, but with enough room for 4 to 6 people to sit...

“Dateline Gelateria Carabe, Florence - Sicilian Ambrosia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2012

When you have gone to this very unassuming ice cream shop and you had a scoop of their heavenly hazelnut ice cream you will understand why I call this Sicilian Ambrosia. It comes in many flavours, its creamy, not over sweet and boy is it smooth. At the end of every mouthful all your taste buds cry out more, more, more... just go and try it, inspite of the calories piling up, its worth every bit of it But, first go to Oliandolo (see my review) down the road for some honest to goodness food and then stop here for your bit of heaven and then go to the Academia or the Annunciata, or San Marco or ... Enjoy ... VGW, London

“Very good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2012

The best gelato I've ever had is here (better than Grom and the world champion in San Gimignano). Limone is my favorite!

“Still the Best in town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2012

Perhaps it's because it's sicialian! anyway the granitas and the ice creams are superb! you can taste the fruits inside! try the granita mixing the almonds (typical sicialian) with kiwi or raspberry or watermelon (it depends on the seasonal fruits) and ask for their cannolis and cassatas you won't be disappointed!
