“Really nice place with a delicious breakfast”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

This place was great. Donatella was really welcoming. She made me a DELICIOUS breakfast every morning. I love organic food and everything she prepared was beautiful and of great quality. The location was perfect for me since it was close to a school that I was attending for 2 weeks. It is about a 20 minute walk from the more touristy part of the city. It was nice to be in a more "florentine" location. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a B&B.

Donatella is a wonderful hostess, serves a 5 star breakfast and provides great suggestions for dining and site seeing. Our room, The Wisteria, was very large with a balcony and large bathroom. This location is across the river from central Florence; however, it is a very easy walk; and, you are close to good restaurants and Gelato. The shared bathroom for other rooms was outside our door and could be very noisy depending upon the guests in the other rooms. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Choose the Wisteria Room

Overall this is the best B&B available in florence! The neighborhood is safe and close to everything. The rooms are large, quite and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom was extremely clean and the breakfast was five star. If you have been looking all over trip advisor for the perfect place... Look no further because you have found it!

I was fortunate to have the opportunity of staying at B&B Monte Oliveto last month. Donatella was the best! She was extremely warm, friendly and most of all sincere. She circled all of the places on a map that I was to see during my 3 day stay and none of them let me down.

The breakfast was outstanding, fresh everything(organic fruits) and exceptionally well done crepes.

The room itself was perfectly charming, clean and had a very comfy bed.

Short walk (5-10mins) to all the sights - I would absolutely recommend the B&B to anyone traveling to Florence.

Room Tip: Choose the room with a private bathroom and deck. Those accomodations beat any 5 star hotel I have...

We were fortunate to spend a week at B&B Monte Oliveto with Donatella and Nicolo in the middle of November. The Wisteria room was spacious and very comfortable, with an ensuite, a balcony and nice view.
Donatella was the perfect host, so friendly, and very helpful, with lots of great advice about the neighbourhood, and Florence in general. Being an artist, and clearly an art lover, she had in-depth knowledge of the artistic aspects of Florence, which was great, as we were keen to explore the many museums, galleries, and churches showcasing art in the city. She also had good suggestions for restaurants tin the area.
Breakfasts were always a pleasure, with many organic treats on offer, and of course, Donatella's delightful company made it a pleasant way to start each day.
We recommend this B&B as a great place to stay, away from the touristy areas, but within walking distance to the main sites, and hope to stay there again ourselves when next in Firenze!

Firenze was lovely also because we stayed in a lovely residential area just a short (20-25 min) walk from Ponte Vecchio and all the good bits. It was great to explore an alternative Florence far from the maddening crowds (although nothing compared to the absolute hysteria-inducing mayhem of boorish Rome) on the opposite side of the Arno compared to the Duomo, Uffizi, etc. The house itself was beautiful and our room lived up to expectations. Donatella (and Niccolò) was a great host and gave us all the tips we needed to make the most of our weekend stay. She even baked a gluten free cake for breakfast for our little girl. Highly recommended. We will be back. Grazie di tutto, Donatella.

Sweet room, sweet Donatella, sweet breakfast and sweet stay!!! The Wisteria is def a beautiful room! The room is a nice and comfortable…the room has it's own private balcony with a very nice background scenery. Donatella, took the time to tell us about Art and the specific places of interest to see and where to eat delicious Italian food and wines. Donatella makes specialty breakfasts, very european style(I believe)…since I'm from the US I'm used to larger servings and the common like cereals, muffins, pancakes, grits and so on...but her breakfast was unique, delicious, small portioned but just right! For the Americans that like their big breakfast like my girlfriend, you might end up eating a bit more outside for breakfast like she did…but I was satisfied! Donatella's place is very centralize, clean and in a very good safe neighborhood! I was very satisfied with the hospitality and overall experience.
