“Charming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

This little gem, in a quiet neighborhood, sits up against the hills with a lovely garden in the back. Florence is small enough to walk everywhere, if you're in good shape. The cobble stone streets can be pretty hard on the feet and knees, but there is a convenient bus line near the B&B. Donatella is charming and wonderfully helpful with directions and suggestions. We emailed ahead of our trip and she made reservations for us to visit the Academy and Ufizzi so it was easy for us to just pick up our tickets and walk in. That's a must as it's very crowded.

ALERT: Several steps up to front door, then several steps up to the room.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Wisteria -a lovely, large room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. Huge bathro...

We found B&B Monte Oliveto on Tripadvisor and are so glad we booked our stay there! It is situated perfectly in the quiet but thriving neighborhood on the other side of the river. The lively birds in the abutting park are the perfect way to start the day in Firenze. Donatella makes an amazing breakfast, cappucino, and even gluten-free treats if you have dietary needs. She is a fantastic host, and made us feel right at home, ensuring that we went to the best museums, churches and parks in the city. The rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable and communication was a breeze. We will absolutely stay again in the future and highly recommend it to anyone else.

Room Tip: We loved the Wisteria room, has a private terrace looking out into the garden

Stayed in this perfect little B&B for 4 nights in April with my boyfriend. Wisteria room was clean and spacious with a lovely balcony over the garden. It is the hosts that make this place special. Donatella and Marta were so welcoming and couldn't have made us feel more at home in their beautiful house. They gave us loads of recommendations of places to eat and things to see, all of which were excellent. They were there to greet us with big smiles every morning. Breakfast was a fantastic spread of homemade cakes (thanks Marta, I'm going to try out that chocolate marble cake!), freshly made juice, biscotti and yoghurt. We were offered eggs every day and had crepes one morning. All in all a truly memorable stay which we'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Florence!

My husband and I stayed two nights at this B&B for our honeymoon. Donnatella is an amazing host, she provides a yummy spread in the morning with organic ingredients. She's very sweet and we really enjoyed talking about the history of Firenze with her! The rooms are cozy and clean, we felt right at home! The center of the city is a short 15 minute walk. We would definitely recommend this place with 5 stars and hope to visit again! Thank you for a memorable time in Firenze!

This place was great. Donatella was really welcoming. She made me a DELICIOUS breakfast every morning. I love organic food and everything she prepared was beautiful and of great quality. The location was perfect for me since it was close to a school that I was attending for 2 weeks. It is about a 20 minute walk from the more touristy part of the city. It was nice to be in a more "florentine" location. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a B&B.

Donatella is a wonderful hostess, serves a 5 star breakfast and provides great suggestions for dining and site seeing. Our room, The Wisteria, was very large with a balcony and large bathroom. This location is across the river from central Florence; however, it is a very easy walk; and, you are close to good restaurants and Gelato. The shared bathroom for other rooms was outside our door and could be very noisy depending upon the guests in the other rooms. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Choose the Wisteria Room

Overall this is the best B&B available in florence! The neighborhood is safe and close to everything. The rooms are large, quite and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom was extremely clean and the breakfast was five star. If you have been looking all over trip advisor for the perfect place... Look no further because you have found it!
