Awesome friendly hosts, great breakfasts, nice location on the other side of the Arno away from the crowds and comfortable accomodation. If you like to run there are some wonderful running areas virtually in the countryside behind this home and some beautiful views of Florence and Tuscany.

We had a wonderful stay in the B & B Monte Oliveto in Firenze. Marta, Paolo and Nicolo (Donatella was in holidays) were unbelievable friendly and helpful. Marta gave us very good advices about the area. They were better than a travel guide. Expecially we enjoyed the breakfast which was extremely good and we loved the conversation. The quarter ist perfect for a stay in Firenze because it is away from the main tourists-paths und there are many nice restaurants and interesting antiques-shops and sideseeeings.
We will come back soon to stay in the B&B Monte Oliveto.

Donatella went above and beyond to welcome us into her home and treat us as family. She helped us with museum reservations, scheduling a taxi to the airport, and even made restaurant suggestions. The rooms were impeccably clean and homey. Donatella even mailed us a package of some belongings we mistakenly left behind. Wow talk about above and beyond!! We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, and the comfy bed.

We had high expectations of Monte Oliveto after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and it exceeded even those. We were greeted by Donatella and given lots of local eatery recommendations before she headed off for a painting course leaving us in Marta's capable hands. We travel with 3 teenage daughters so the Mansard room was just perfect for them. Breakfasts were not only filled with superb homemade cakes and other breakfast staples, but we had long chats with Marta, who recommended various sites, galleries and running routes. Every recommendation came up with the goods. A superb little B&B. I managed to fall in love with Firenze even more.....didn't think that was possible. Thank you Marta for your wonderful care.

Room Tip: Wisteria and Mansard rooms have ensuites.

My friend and I spent several nights as guests of this fabulous bed and breakfast in Florence, Italy. The owners of the B & B, Donatella & Nicolò and their daughter Marta, are exceptional hosts. They have brochures on all of the places you might wish to visit and their knowledge of the area, restaurants and sights are a real plus. The breakfast provided is not only beautiful but delicious. The rooms and bathrooms are furnished with such loving care and warmth. The location is very near the areas of Florence we wanted to tour, so we were able to walk to all of the museums, churches, restaurants and other sights.

They have a computer for guests and internet access.

I would recommend this B & B to anyone traveling to Florence. Make your reservations far in advance of your trip. This wonderful B & B fills up quickly.

Room Tip: The Wisteria Room is large and faces the garden and hillside. It also has it's own bathroom. Y...

This little gem, in a quiet neighborhood, sits up against the hills with a lovely garden in the back. Florence is small enough to walk everywhere, if you're in good shape. The cobble stone streets can be pretty hard on the feet and knees, but there is a convenient bus line near the B&B. Donatella is charming and wonderfully helpful with directions and suggestions. We emailed ahead of our trip and she made reservations for us to visit the Academy and Ufizzi so it was easy for us to just pick up our tickets and walk in. That's a must as it's very crowded.

ALERT: Several steps up to front door, then several steps up to the room.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Wisteria -a lovely, large room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. Huge bathro...

We found B&B Monte Oliveto on Tripadvisor and are so glad we booked our stay there! It is situated perfectly in the quiet but thriving neighborhood on the other side of the river. The lively birds in the abutting park are the perfect way to start the day in Firenze. Donatella makes an amazing breakfast, cappucino, and even gluten-free treats if you have dietary needs. She is a fantastic host, and made us feel right at home, ensuring that we went to the best museums, churches and parks in the city. The rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable and communication was a breeze. We will absolutely stay again in the future and highly recommend it to anyone else.

Room Tip: We loved the Wisteria room, has a private terrace looking out into the garden
