The hotel is a relatively new hotel and is nice and large.
It has a big parking outside seperated from the street and even an underground garage.

The room was spacious and clean.
The towels and bed linen were even changed every day.

The staff was very friendly and really helpfull if you had a question or a remark.

The breakfast had a great variaty of food and drinks.

Despite being quiet modern we had some noise from neighboring rooms and a toilet that didn't work well.

Also the hotel is a bit far from the city center if you are planning to use it for a city trip hotel.
There is a bus, number 23, located at approx. 700m. And easy to use. Take your ticket from a tabaco store or a parking meter.

This hotel is in a strange complex that seems more akin to being in eastern europe. There are massive gates that require to be opened prior to entry, how strange.. Florence is not that bad! It is closely located to the Selex Elsag facility on Via Barsanti and this is one of the only plusses. The rooms are big and are very clean, however apart from that this hotel is devoid of everything. It has no character at all. The beds are so hard, it feels like prison. Sheets and furnishings are bare minimum, like the bathroom and toiletries supplied (had better in public toilets). The bar is never attended and takes 30 minutes for anyone to come as if it isnt expected to be used. However the personnel are very friendly and I would give them 5 stars..... It is very old fashioned and could do wiht being updated and made more comfortable.

Breakfast is not good, coffee is terrible, but at least you can get an expresso or a cappuccio from the waitered service. Orange juice is out of a bottle and sour, croissants are not fresh and are like the ones you buy in packs in the supermarket and the cooked breakfast..... well lets leave that out (as we dont expect good cooked breakfast in Italy).

Bus loads of Asian tourists come here and knowing what it is like in their country and the standard of hotels, I can only imagine what they think of this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless very short trip and you need to go to Selex. Otherwise go elsewhere and be comfortable, life is too short to stay in hotels like this, the pricing is reasonable, but NOT compared to other hotels in Florence. It is about the same as a good 4 star. This hotel could only be afforded 2 stars for lack of everything.

I have now asked my work to book all future stays for me in the centre. I may pay more in taxis, but I would pay triple that NOT to stay in this hotel. It is a sad, lonely and underserviced hotel. No more to say.

Room Tip: If you smoke, try and get a room with a balcony on the lower levels, that way you can go outside wit...

The NILHOTEL is a relatively new 4-star hotel in the beautiful city of Florence.
It's adjacent to General Electric/Nuovo Pignone Company, hence very attractive to visitors doing business with this company.
It's also quite near to the airport.
Not far from the hotel there are several good restaurants and a COOP supermarket.
The hotel is modern with clean spacious rooms and good security and good breakfast buffet.
The only drawback is it lacks coffee/tea set which is normally provided as a standard these days in such rated hotels.

Stayed 5 nights and we used it as the center of our excursion to Tuscany. It is located bit far from the city center but we have an excellent stay. Rooms are large clean and well equipped. Staff was very helpful. Don't try to use bus services for the city center and don't even think about driving there because you won't find parking anyway. Try only taxis.

Stayed 2 nights at the Nilhotel, staff were friendly and professional, breakfast was good with ample choices has a seccure above and underground car park rooms are large clean and well equipped (no tea and coffee facilities)
Over all good hotel but found it a bit too far out of the city and the bus services although efficient in Florence aren't that eaasy to use as the buses don't always go to the station you need to.
Don't even think about driving your car in to the city as you can't drive there apart from the taxis and emergency services and whatever streets you can use you won't find parking anyway.
The view from the hotel is ok at the front but all other areas you will be looking at the industrial parts of Florence might not be important to some just letting you know.

Average in all points hotel. Breakfast is fine (but croissants are perfect :)
Location is good for bussiness visit, but not for pleasure and enjoyinng old Florence.
Hotel staff is ok, nothing special, except bar tender in lobby bar! He is one of nicest barmans I ever saw! Rooms are clean and well maintained. But there was one absolutely enraging thing - hotel personal always closed metal rolling jalousie and room looked like a cave of batman without sunlight. Everytime I left them open and when returned found already closed. Also one time after washing I received not my socks, but socks of some girl with pictures puppies on them, but still they were well washed and dried :)

We had booked this hotel for our last night in Tuscany, after staying at a B & B previously. We had a very early flight out in the morning, and decided it would be easier to stay close to the airport. Staff was very helpful, room was large and clean. We left too early to have breakfast there, and they even reduced our room cost a little. It didn't give us the feel of being in Tuscany (it could have been in the U.S. for all the "cultural differences") but it suited our needs for that night very well.
