We had no cause to have worried about this lovely place being "across the bridge" from Florence's top destination - it was a quick 10-minute walk across the lovely, pedestrian, and famously photographed old bridge "Pontevecchio" to reach the densest of the historic sites. Better yet was returning across the pretty Arno River to a charming (but still very tourist-friendly) neighborhood that is a block from the Pitti Palazzo, and surrounded by restaurants, shops, and enough grocers to put together a few of our own meals. Better still was the remarkable apartment itself - historic, but with all the latest upgrades, wonderfully spacious, and impeccably clean and well-appointed. And best of all was Federico's kind welcome and spot-on advice about how to make our stay far more enjoyable than we expected. After one especially loooong day, it was particularly sweet to hear him commend our trek through more art than I knew existed in one place! We'll be back for a longer stay the first chance we get - thank you Federico and Francesca for a memorable first time!
