“Great accomodation in the heart of Florence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2012

Very charming & elegant B&B! We stayed here with our young kids (6 & 4 years) end May. Stefano was a very well informed and gracious host. The accomodation is extremely comfortable, super clean and has an awesome location. Most key sites & great eateries (& gelato shops) in Florence are walking distance. We are so glad we found this place - absolutely recommend it and will be sure to use this when we are in the area next!

We are not the stay at fancy hotel with big lobby types. We prefer a reasonably priced, quiet but nice, room in a good location with helpful people. The Residenza fit the bill in all respects. We were right near the Duomo, and indeed had a spectacular view of the dome from our window, which was especially marvellous at night. Almost every other major attraction was also within easy walking distance, as were great restaurants and shops. Our room was quite large for Italy and very nice, even apart from the view. While the B&B does not actually serve breakfast, it has discount arrangements with several restaurants nearby, most notably the Cafe Verrazzano next door, which will provide you with the best coffee we had in Tuscany, a selection of rolls, and a delightful pastry for a mere 3.50 euros. And before I forget, there is Stefano the manager, who goes well out of his way to offer any assistance that you may need, including a map with suggestions for where to go and what to do. And the price for all this, as well as free wi fi, is amazingly low.

Room Tip: Our room -- number 7, had a great view of the Duomo.

My mom and I had a great stay at the Residenza della Signoria while in Florence. It is in a great location right in the middle of Florence close to shopping, restaurants and lots of sites. Stefano was fantastic and very helpful. The room was clean, large and very cozy and would definitely stay there again.

WE have stayed here twice and it is so nice and quiet. The front door is off off a main street, so the B&B is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. The proprietor speaks English very well and were very courteous, even after I had to change my reservations twice! There is a small elevator, also. The room was very quiet due to the thick windows and shutters. We slept very well. Our luggage was lost and arrived late and the luggage was placed in our rooms after hours while we were out. This B&B is charming and comfortable.

Not sure how to describe this place. It is on part of the third floor of a mixed use building with strict access and security. Not exactly a hotel. It is a B&B with NO breakfast.

Stefano is a very helpful and friendly proprietor. Makes the stay very personal. The rooms are basic, but fairly large and well maintained. It is very well located and only a short walk from just about everything. If you want a low-key, good experience in a wonderful city, stay here.

Great accomodation in a very central location - easy walk to all the main sights.
Clean and hospitable. Small and quiet, staff only on hand in the morning, so you need to follow the instructions to get in when you first arrive.
Great views from the window of the street, so you can people watch, and round the corner from Piazza della Republica, so could hear the music of the street performers with the window open. Small kitchen for the use of guests and great little coffee shop/wine bar next door where you can get breakfast.
