We visited Florence together with our two children. The location of this B&B is ideal as it is in the centre of the city. If the kids were tired, we would pop back to our room for a bit of a rest. Evenings were wonderful since street perdormers in the Piazza are awesome and there is always something going on everyday. The room was lovely and the bathroom was very comfortable. What was lovely was that at any time we were able to go into the breakfast room for a quick espresso and look out of its window overlooking the square. Mario, the owner, is always really caring and helpful. I would recommend this place anytime and would gladly revisit it myself once more!

Room Tip: We stayed in a quadrule room - Number 5 and it was great.

Great deal in the heart of Florence. Truly. Best location you could imagine on a wonderful piazza in the middle of everything. Small little B&B on the third floor of the building. Quiet and cozy.

Location doesn't get any better. Right on Piazza Repubblica and within walking distance of everything. The B&B has an elevator which came in handy when we arrived with luggage. Mario, the owner, was wonderful. He's warm, welcoming and very helpful. There were three of us (3 generations) traveling together. We had a room with a queen sized bed and then there was a loft with a twin bed. French doors opened onto a small balcony that had a little table and two chairs. The room was very clean and comfortable. Felt big with the high ceiling. The breakfast room had a big window that looked out at the piazza. In the morning you could get bread, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice. The coffee and tea were available 24 hours. There was also a water cooler. I highly recommend B&B Repubblica and when I go back to Florence I know where I will be staying.

The gentleman looking over the hotel, and I guess he's the owner was a very nice and helpful one. very friendly. The location of the hotel was excellent, we didn't worry about the trip getting back to the hotel since it was in the middle of the piazza. We had access to the coffee and tea lounge all the time, where there was a great water cooler that tasted like it came from heaven. Internet access in the entrance using a computer that's installed on the desk. may had internet access in the room but very weak.

Upon checking in Mario guides us around the B&B and inform us to get the museum tickets a day earlier, so has not to be caught by surprise. The queue to the museum is pretty long to get in. He showed us to the breakfast area, and inform us that we are welcome any time of the day to have a cup of coffee or tea at the dining area, which I think it is rare in a B&B in Italy. There is also a free usuage of internet. This are all added facilities which he offer at his B&B.
He even allow us to use his mobile phone to call a hotel in Greve to cancel our reservation. He was never calculative in his approach, and his care for us and our daughter was geniune.
The rooms which was given to us has a attic bedroom for our daughter. The room was spacious and has a balcony which faces the square. Though noise was an issue initially, we got used to it in a day or so.
The toilet facilites were o.k, but I am not so keen on the shower area. The shower area is built to shower in a very tight enclosed area. If you are bigger then normal person, you might find difficulties to move around the shower area.

The hotel is very well positioned in a central area, and Mario always advise us not to eat at the squares, as they charge more.
On the last day he even help us with our luggage, to the taxis stand.
All in all this place is in a very good location with a Marvellous Host like Mario.

We traveled again with our 17 year old granddaughter now and stayed at Mario's place for five nights and this B&B was "right in the middle of everything! The elevator saved us the stairs and the rooms were spacious and airy. Breakfast was granola and yogurt and all the coffee, juice and pastries we could handle. Mario was helpful getting tickets for the museums....even when they were closed! Since last time we came, now there is no noise anymore! Great!

Repubblica is a lovely small Bed & Breakfast in the middle of busy Florence. The location is perfect - 5 minutes from the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. The owner, Mario, is very pleasant and helpful. Our luggage was lost in transit and Mario did his best to help us. Eventually it was found 24 hours later and delivered to us. Given the fact that the hotel windows are almost facing the busy and noisy Piazza Repubblica, it is surprising that the rooms are relatively quiet at night, as the owner installed additional double-glazed windows. You may, however, request rooms located further away from Piazza Rep. Breakfasts are reasonable (coffee, tea, juice, cereals, jam, yoghurt, milk) and there is free access to tea and coffee throughout the day. Free access to high speed internet is provided. Definitely recommended to those visiting Florence.
