“a terrific bargain and a great stay”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

The Florent is not a conventional hotel -- there is no daily maid service, you need to restock the toilet paper yourself, and better bring your own soap and shampoo! It is like renting a furnished apartment: there is often no one downstairs at the reception, so if you lock yourself out, you're out of luck. But it's a terrific deal. Four units in an old building in the heart of a quiet neighborhood on the other side of the Arno, near the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens and Santo Spirito, and at a merciful remove from all the touristic madness in the main part of the city. The rooms are modern, clean, stylish, with everything you need -- including a kitchenette -- and completely furnished, there is plenty of hot water and good water pressure, and high ceilings (at least in apartment 4). And for all that, the prices are unbeatable: I paid less than 100 euros a night for a one-bedroom suite at the height of the tourist season. One caution: the bed was quite hard. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Travelled to Florence with a friend for a couple of days & stayed at Florent. Owner very welcoming, pleasant & helpful. The apartment was spacious, clean & comfortable in a great location only a few minutes walk from the city centre. Had a great stay & would highly recommend Florent to anyone travelling to Florence.

I travelled with my two daughters and stayed there for 7 nights. As most of the buildings in Florence are rather old, this particular apartment has no elevator. But Pablo who works there helped us girls to carry up! The apartment has basically all the basic essential like tv, bed, bathroom and kitchen. It is about 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Nearby the area has Chinese and Japanese food worth a visit for Asian food lovers. Pitti palace is also 5 mins. Definitely a must go! I would definitely recommend my friends to florent apartment!

Finding apartments available for two nights stay in Florence is not an easy task. This Florent property checked all of our boxes. This apartment has two bedrooms with separate bathrooms each with a shower. Located on the first floor, there was a minimum of stairs to climb.SInce this is a very old building, there is no elevator. In addition to the free WiFi, the property manager, Paolo Vergoni, was available and willing to answer our questions and provide us assistance.

Since this property is located in a restricted parking area - no outside cars allowed - the outside parking lot involves between a half and one mile hike. While the parking lot is secure, luggage with roller wheels is a near must.

Within a shorter distance are several restaurants serving wonderful fare from which to choose. Reservations are highly recommended. We stayed in March ahead of the high season and still needed a reservation to avoid a 30 to 60 minute wait.

The beginning of the central city is located about four blocks from this apartment an easy walk. All in all this apartment was a wonderful value. The modern interior design was an impressive contrast to the centuries old structure.

Room Tip: We did not hear anything outside of our rooms and certainly no noise from outside the building. Ampl...

Florence was our second stop on a 5-city site seeing tour of Europe. We were traveling as two couples and booked a two-room suite (we were in rooms 3 and 4 on the third floor). The set up couldn’t have been better, as each couple essentially had their own suite with a bed, kitchen, and private shower. The fact that the rooms connected with a door that could be closed was fantastic as each couple had privacy when necessary (the fact that the 4 of us didn’t have to share one bathroom was an added bonus!). The only downfall to the apartment was the beds – they were quite uncomfortable by the end of our three-night stay.

Booking the apartment was very easy, however it appears that I had reached out during some management changes as the first communications and payments were a bit confused. I had been asked to pay a deposit via paypal (which I preferred) and a few days later the payment was refunded to my account with no heads up. I reached out to the person I had been communicating with via email, they clarified the situation and asked for another down payment which was accepted. Once we got closer to our trip, I asked to pay the remaining balance in full via paypal prior to arrival, which they allowed me to do. They were very accommodating and acknowledging of the prior booking problems.

Perhaps most helpful was the information they provided in regards to driving and parking. We were renting a car and driving to Florence, and they notified me ahead of time of the restricted traffic areas, the parking garage closest to Florent, and even warned me to have my name added to the “white list” so that we would be authorized to drive in the restricted traffic zones.

Overall a great stay!

We really enjoyed our two nights at the Florent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our studio suite was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Everything worked just the way it should. It's not spacious but we really only used it for sleeping and showering. The kitchen has a basic set of equipment. Clean and comfortable was delivered for us.

The suite is just a few easy blocks away from the Ponte Vecchio. The only negative was the noise on the street outside. Traffic noise starts up very early.

A few minutes to Ponte Vecchio and to all major sights. We had two apartments that were connected. The place had a modern decor. It felt private and spacious. We did not use the kitchen. The owners are nice. I would stay here again.
