Noise could be heard from hallway as people came and went from their rooms.
Check in was in a different building but staff escorted us to room.
Pricey, at least $150/night

My wife and I spent three nights in Florence and were drawn to the La Dimora del Centro due to the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor. We will add our raves to others. The location is outstanding and pulls you into the vibe of Florence day and night life. We requested and got the Purple a Room which oversees the main square (I could see the Duomo from my pillow!). It was very clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom (best shower in Italy!). Although it's lively at night in the square, the room was quiet enough for sleep.
You're within blocks of everything in Florence including Porcellino, who's nose you will touch thereby committing a return trip to Florence. When you do, you'll want to stay here!
PS, Roberta sets a welcoming tone

We were in Florence for a couple of days only, the location was great. We were walking distances from the train and central to everything. The duomo we can see right out of our windows. The only downfall was the nightlife in the evening. If you do not like the noise from the restaurants, bars, asked for room in the back.

The location is absolutely perfect. A-couple-of-minutes-walk to Duomo so you don't have to be scared at night. It can get a little spooky around it at dark. A few steps from Piazza della Signoria so you don't have crowds under your window all day and night. Two minutes to Ponte Vecchio and the Uffici so you can go whenever and a stone's throw to Oltrarno and the hip hang-outs and might I add, the best gelato in town. The big designer shops are around the corner and Santa Maria Novella is a short walk away but also at a safe distance. You know how train stations are at night. Santa Croce is another five minutes. It's great having everything within your reach. The tea and coffee-making facilities in the kitchen are also a bonus. The bed is excellent and super comfortable. The arrangement with Robiglio for breakfast was also nice with no limit on time. We could eat breakfast whenever we wanted and not rush out of the room early in the morning as is the rule with hotels.
On the downside, we had only one key so for an entire week we were like siamese twins. I wanted to hit the shops but my husband wanted to have a shower and rest a little. Not possible when we had only one key. I wanted to sleep but he wanted to go out and take some night shots with his camera. None doing. No key in the room means no electricity and if you go out without it you cannot come back in. It's not like you can ring the bell and someone will let you in. So we were inseparable.
The bathroom also has a few issues. The lighting is not good. I'm not talking about it being strong enough, I'm saying it is wrong. We understood how wrong when I tried to put on make-up and my husband tried to shave. It made an easy, everyday habit difficult. In addition, there's no surface to put stuff except for a small glass shelf under the mirror. And as there's only one mirror with the possibility to leave a make-up kit or whatever in the bathroom, I couldn't get ready while my husband shaved. One had to wait for the other to finish and that caused some grumpiness. It kept us tidy though. We had to put back everything in the vanity case once used. Couldn't clutter. The bathroom is small and it's understandable for an old building but the problem could be helped if there was a shelf by the big mirror next to the door and if the light above it didn't go out every 90 seconds.

I am so glad we chose to stay at this hotel while we were in Florence. It was a good price, the location was perfect and central, the staff was very helpful and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfy, and beautifully decorated. In the afternoon wee really enjoyed spending an hour or two in our room looking over the Piazza della Repubblica with a glass of wine. It also had a nice little communal kitchen with glasses, silverwear, tea, and treats for guests to enjoy. It was such a nice place to stay. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Florence.

I loved staying in this gorgeous little b&b - the location is very central, right in the centre of Piazza Della Repubblica close to a lot of great attractions. We stayed in the 'Agnese' room (furnished beautifully in white and lilac) which overlooks the piazza, we could open our windows at night and take in the atmosphere! Also worth a mention is the fact that the lovely staff are very helpful and accommodating. I also mustn't forget that the shared kitchen has tea, coffee and biscotti on offer at all times for guests to help themselves, a lovely touch to this cosy place. Breakfast is included but it is around the corner at a cafe - not hard to find and they have yummy pastries. The only downside was that it was difficult to find when driving by car - my tip is to avoid driving in Florence and simply catch a taxi to the Piazza to find this lovely place... well worth it!

Room Tip: choose a room facing the piazza to soak up the piazza atmosphere!

We stayed here last week for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. This B&B was great. It feels very homey in the middle of a big city, which was a nice change. It is very quiet, has a 24 hour coffee/tea room which I took great advantage of, and free wifi.

Our room was so cute, decorated nicely, and the view was amazing of the duomo and the piazza di repubblica. We even were given free champagne to celebrate our honeymoon.

The ONLY thing we had difficulty with was getting in touch with the reception desk. We called a few times during their open hours and could not reach anybody. It wasn't an emergency, just looking for some dinner reservations so we just gave up and did it on our own.
