“No Reservation - this Accommodation's staff gave kindness and comfort at a distressing time”
Reviewed 14 May 2012

We foolishly made our way from Venice to Florence on the Friday afternoon before a long holiday weekend, without first making a reservation in Florence! Chance good luck directed us to these beautiful apartments, and a delightful and kind-hearted staff member called Larisa who gave us a last-minute suite to overnight in. She went out of her way again and again during the course of our stay to make sure that we were looked after, and making good memories of Florence, as she said. With a first-class well-appointed suite, a comfortable bed covered in highest-quality linen and the best pillows, and all the best amenities close to hand, how could we not have good memories?

Room Tip: Don't open the windows on the street-facing apartments as the streets are very noisy. The window...

We recently returned from a 5 night stay at Ponte Vecchio Suites. It was our fourth trip to Italy (second to Florence) and first time for our kids (10 and 8). We booked the Ponte Vecchio Suites primarily from reviews on TripAdvisor, reasonable price and excellent location in the West Oltrarno which is convenient to the Ponte Vecchio bridge but south of the Arno river away from most of the tourist traffic about a 20 minute walk from the train station. Upon our arrival (we arrived early), we were greeted by Larisa who was so helpful during our entire stay (making recommendations on sites, dinner reservations, train reservations, etc). Our room was very comfortable with separate room for the kids. This is not a full service hotel BUT that's what makes it feel like you're own place as we saw only one other couple during our entire stay. Besides who wants to eat in their room or in the lobby as there is an excellent cafe across the street (Caffe le Torri) where we ate breakfast every morning (not nearly as expensive as the tourist trap cafes at the base of the Ponte Vecchio) and we were the only Americans among locals (good sign). We ate at Gusta Pizza (twice), Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco and Sant'Agostino 23 Trattoria all which were excellent and within walking distance. All of the sites of Florence are convenient and within walking distance. I understand they have another hotel that recently opened in Florence but I would not hesitate to return here on our next trip! I rate 5 stars for location and excellent service! Ciao.

We stayed at Ponte Vecchio Suites for 4 days in April. The location is perfect, room was clean and spacious enough for our family of four (we travelled with our two children). Staff is very helpful and professional, offering knowledgable advise and making phone calls to book restaurants, museums etc. Highly recommendable for a great stay in Florence.

We cannot say enough great things about this hotel! We traveled all around Italy and this was by far our favorite hotel and experience--especially for the price! The location is perfect and the staff is so helpful. You really need someone knowledgeable and wiling to help and make phone calls for you in Florence and the women at the front desk were beyond helpful and kind. Also, the room was enormous by European standards and very clean. We will be going back again for sure. Thank you again for all your help Ponte Vecchio staff!

I can't rave enough about this place. The BF and I stayed for a week starting on March 24th and thorughly enjoyed our stay.
The location is excellent right near the Ponte Vecchio but on a little side street which is quiet and peaceful and out of the tourist chaos.
We liked the fact we had a small kitchenette and could have breakfast in the suite . There is a very good supermarket a block away where you can easily get provisions so it was simple.
The suite was spacious and the bed comfortable. The windows all had black-out drapes so there was complete privacy . There was a TV in the bedroom and another in the Living Room - free WiFi was also available.
To add to all of the above good stuff the main reason you need to stay there is the staff.
The service was spectacular -- engaging, friendly, professional, and equal that of any 5 star hotel. Bravi to Larissa, Tatiana, and Elena ! They were all wondeful !

I arrived in Florence via train and took a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to the hotel, but the streets in Florence are narrow and crowded. Hard to navigate with luggage. Use the cab and make sure you have the address and phone number for the driver. The property was a little hard to find even with GPS.

Upon arrival the staff greeted me and were very professional. They even took time to mark things on the map for me. Very nice. There is an elevator for your use (helpful if you have a lot of luggage) Otherwise, the main staircase in easier to use. My room was excellent and very spacious. Separate living and bedroom areas. I really liked the big windows you could open if you wanted fresh air. Especially after a long flight. Another worthwhile comment was the drapes. Very dark and didn't allow any light into the room. Loved it. There is an espresso maker in your room that is convenient for the morning caffeine addiction. Bathroom was small, but very model and clean. Great shower and great water pressure. TV was a newer model although not very many options for English other than CNN. Then again, this is Florence. You should not be in your room other than to sleep. Hotel has free Wi-fi and will need a separate access code for each device. I think the maximum number is three devices. I could be mistaken.

Hotel is located within walking distance to all the sites of Florence, including shops and restaurants. Other than the taxi to the hotel, I was able to walk to all the places I wanted to visit. One important item, the hotel desk staff goes home around 5PM. So, make sure you write down their emergency mobile number AND know the code to open the front door. I never found this to be an issue and really enjoyed my stay.
