We stayed here for one night on our way to see friends in Southern Italy - we will definitely return for a longer stay in the future. Greeted with a choice of water or prosecco, we were given the option of freshening up in our room or touring the facilities. After a few hours in the car, we decided to stretch our legs with a little walk. I enjoyed the library -- and returned later to relax and enjoy looking through some of the books on design.

Our room was as advertised - the sheets were perfectly pressed, the shower was lovely and the tub provided a nice soak. We had dinner in the restaurant and found the food to be up to the standard one would expect of this level of hotel. The next morning's breakfast was fresh and tasty -- we sat outside. The spa was very nice and we both enjoyed our massages.

We used the gym in the morning and found the equipment excellent! Well maintained and spotless!

I recently read that good service is giving what is expected for the money -- outstanding service is giving a customer what they didn't even know they wanted. It is such a small thing -- but we were delighted when our car was retrieved for our departure. There were two full water bottles and a small bag of boiled sweets! Extremely thoughtful! It's these little touches that bring a smile! Wonderful stay!

My husband & I traveled to Italy with our 2 children; ages 6 & 8. When I originally looked up this hotel, the other reviews seemed to suggest that this hotel would not be a good fit for kids. I contacted the hotel and they said that children were absolutely welcomed. And they were! The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure our children were knew they were welcomed. From special kids' robes in the rooms to a suggested list of "things to do with kids", the entire staff made us feel so welcomed. Throughout our stay, the staff was more than accomodating and the service was EXCELLENT.

The hotel is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures. From the moment we pulled up to the private drive, we were transported to what we had dreamed of as Tuscany would be. The grounds and common areas were just beautiful. And our room - magnificent!

The hotel is only 10 - 15 minutes from Florence's city center. The hotel provides a free shuttle to city center & back throughout the day. Florence is easy to navigate and you can really see most of the city and its sights by walking.

After a full day in the city, it was such a pleasure to pull up to the hotel and its quiet, beautiful environment.

Our experience was wonderful and we would recommend this hotel to all.

My wife, my niece and I spent two great evenings at Il Salviatino.
Everything was superb from the moment of our pickup at Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence until our departure two days later.

More than anything else, the staff and its service were superb. The staff at Il
Salviatino manages to balance attention to its guests and at the same time to give its guests the space to enjoy the beauty of the hotel and its amenities. I cannot exaggerate the warmth of the service.

We stayed in the Garden Deluxe Rooms which are approximately 500 sq. feet: Just
the right size for my wife and I in one room and my niece in the other. The shower and bath facilities were appropriate for a hotel of this class and price. Each room has a safe and ample closet space.

From the Garden Deluxe Rooms we enjoyed a view of the extensive gardens of the
hotel. The front of the hotel (and as I understand, the suites) enjoy stunning views of the Duomo and the city of Florence.

The Hotel provides transportation both to Florence and to nearby Fiesole.

I would definitely return to this superb hotel.

My husband and I chose Il Salviatino to be the final stop during our honeymoon in Italy. After days driving around Tuscany, then hiking about Cinque Terre, we wanted a relaxing hotel to enjoy our final few days in Italy, and this was the perfect place. I wouldn't even call Il Salviatino a 'hotel' - more like a secluded manor in the hills overlooking Florence. When you arrive there is no front desk - just warm and highly professional staff standing by to greet you with champagne for your tour of the grounds and your room. Amazing!

My husband and I stayed at II Salviatino for four nights at the end of March and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a bit more then we usually spend but we decided to treat ourselves and it was totally worth it.

From the moment you arrive you are greeted by a personal service ambassador who is there to make your stay more comfortable. We had a few different ambassadors and they were all wonderful, helpful and friendly. At every turn they tried to make our stay more enjoyable.

Our room was beautiful and cozy. The food was wonderful. The grounds and view were breathtaking. I also took advantage of the spa while we were there and the Thai massage is the best I have ever had.

The only thing we weren't sure about what tipping. The level of service was out of this world and we weren't sure if we should tip as we go or at the end (or even at all). We decided to tip at the end but read that it is not expected in Europe. We wanted to recognize the level of service though. I'm interested what others did.

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite and it was beautiful.

A room with a stunning view over the city of Florence, staff excellent in customer care, food and wine to showcase Tuscany at it's best...we will return to Il Salviatino. Chic, under-stated luxury.

We stayed at Il Salviatino for four nights after returning to Florence from the Tuscan Countryside. We purposely chose to stay outside of the city proper this time so we could relax and enjoy a bit of the Florence hillside (Fiesole). The hotel is beautiful; our room, lovely and spacious, the bathroom divine. The staff could not have been more helpful; they made it clear that they were there for us, all we had to do was ask. Breakfast was delicious as well as dinner. We had drinks on the terrace overlooking the city, very romantic. Staying at Il Salviatino offers the feeling of staying in the country while only being a 10 minute ride from the center of historic Firenze. Perfetto, magnifico, bella.
