We stayed at B&B Casa Leopardi for six nights in the middle of October and loved the entire stay! The hostess is very friendly, organized, and helpful, with great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The room Silvia was perfect, very clean, updated very nicely, and with a nice and modern bathroom. The location is great as you can easily walk to everything you may want to see and there are great restaurants in the area. Breakfast at the nearby cafe was also very good, and we really enjoyed going there every morning. All in all, this is an excellent place to stay when in Florence and I would highly recommend to anyone looking.

We stayed in the fanny room for four nights. It's a little out of the center of the city but definitely walkable. The steep stairs are a struggle but it does clearly advertise that. The breakfast is in a cafe called Oibo - you can find it on TA City Guides (luckily) and it's 250m away. A single croissant and coffee (or bottle of water) is pretty poor to be honest. Coffee and croissants are very good however.

Btw, the bed is super hard. And another couple left early in the morning and the sound-proofing is almost nonexistent.

The wifi doesn't work in our room. And when we mentioned it, the host knew and suggested we sit in the small reception. Ok sometimes if you stand in the corridor near reception but what use is that? Unhappy with that as we use wifi each night to plan the next day. That is almost a deal breaker for me... don't advertise wifi if the coverage is poor.

The host and her husband are lovely and friendly. Made reservations on request and waited for us to check in at 7pm. English isn't perfect but I speak some Italian so that was okay. But otherwise explaining an initalissue with the AC (all ok now) would have been difficult.

Pleasantly surprised to learn the room was serviced daily and towels replaced. Had assumed that the linen change every three days meant no room cleaning either. Bathroom excellent size and good shower with strong pressure (often lacking in old buildings). Shower did drain unbelieveably slowly such that we had to break between showers to let it drain.

The room itself is very large which is wonderful. Would I stay again? At ?110 per night in June it was reasonable value but I'd still look around - it may well end up being the one we return to but the wifi is a definite issue for us.

Location: slightly away from the triangle of SNM, duomo and Uffizi, near St. Croce
Hotel: B&B with 3 rooms, two of which are 3 beds and 1 double bed
Room: big, very tastefully done, wardrobe, table, sofa, well lit
Positives: great service, very organized, good room
Negatives: up 3 tall floors, no lift, limited breakfast in a café 50m away

So let’s start with the reasons why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. (i) It’s a bed & breakfast but the breakfast is served at a café 50 meters away from the b&b and is limited. You get 1 voucher per person/night which entitles you to a coffee and a pastry/croissant (ii) it’s on the 3rd floor of a building which high ceilings and hence a tough hike for people with partial disabilities.

If you do opt for this b&b, do get a Google map printout of the exact location (11 via Giuseppe) because nobody knows about this place as its situated in a building offering no signage of its presence except for the doorbell. You can get here from SNM using the electric bus C2 which drops you down via Ghibelleni (perpendicular road) near Teatro Verdi and you can walk back a few yards. You’ll also find a laudromat just near the bus stop which you can make use of if you are in Florence/Italy for long.

Our room was beautifully done and given a heritage feeling with the fixtures, paintings, wall colouring et al. Our bathroom was big and once again tastefully done. We had no issues with either the room or the bedroom. The rooms and bathrooms were cleaned daily. We had a locker in our room that was afixed into the wall (low risk). We had absolutely no issues whilst we were within the premises.

Karin was very well organized; she had our internet passwords (free wi-fi) and breakfast vouchers ready. She also recommended a few good restaurants (we loved Francesco Vini) and even helped organize passes for the Gallery of Academy for us. I’d surely give a 5 star rating to Karin.

You should surely opt for this b&b if you
- don’t have an issue with walking 10-15 mins to get to most attractions
- can climb 3 floors at least once a day
- don’t need a b&b for making use of their kitchen (for your kid’s meals)
- and are fine walking to your breakfast

I’ll explore staying at Casa Leopardi if I were in Florence again.

Room Tip: They only have 3 rooms of which only 1 is for couples, the other two accomodate 3 people. So not much choice here.

We stayed at Leopardi in September. (Yes, it's a little hike up the stairs.) The place has been redone so perfectly! The rooms and baths are beautiful. Karin is so gracious and helpful-she does everything she can to help. Lots of conveniences, like cold AC and great Wifi. Excellent location, close to everything. Thanks again, Karin for making our short trip to Florence so wonderful!

Located in golden area for tourists, and classical style impressed us at first sight.
The room was little bigger than the picture on web, and the bathroom is quite clean and modern.
You may get almost everything there, self-service kitchen & icebox.
Karin will kindly provide you the detailed routine for you and recommendations.
I can`t help but highlight the location, very close to Santa Croce, surrounded by several open fairs.
But, it`ll take much efforts to carry the luggage upstairs.
