This newish five star is right in the centre of town. It is small enough that the staff have the time and inclination to assist you - they were hugely helpful to me when sorting out some international courier services I needed to arrange. The rooms and bathroom are well appointed and breakfast was good, though don't be afraid to ask the staff to replenish items in the small but crowded dining room. It is worth paying a bit extra for the Deluxe Rooms giving access to the Spa - great to unwind after a day walking around town. Not the cheapest, but worth it for a bit of luxury.

My husband and I stayed in 5 hotels during our 2 week trip to Italy and the Golden Tower was by far our favorite. It's located in an ideal spot from which to venture out and discover the beauty and charm that is Florence. We walked all over the place! The room itself was lovely, with the most awesome shower/tub we've ever experienced. The bed was very comfy and the furnishings modern and pretty. Everything was nice and clean. We had a deluxe room and with that we got freebies from the fridge (and snacks) as well as a good breakfast buffet each morning. The champagne and strawberries were a nice welcome. Loved it!

My wife and I stayed in the Golden Tower Hotel in Florence for an all too brief 2 days during our honeymoon in Italy. After we left we both agreed that we should have stayed longer. It is convenient for the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio and many other sights of this beautiful city. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and can book tickets to many of florence's attractions for you. Our room was small but very comfortable and the feature of being able to watch foreign television in its original language was a great plus as our Italian left a lot to be desired. The breakfast buffet was also excellent.

The big plus of the Golden Tower, aside from it's location, is the spa in the lower ground floor. This is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day in the hussle and bussle of a very busy city.

We look forward to staying again.

Nice hotel, great location, but difficult to find initially.
As a previous reviewer had indicated the GPS was no help, we found that as well so if you're trying to find this hotel with a GPS you will probably be lead around in circles as we were. My best map was my iPhone and google maps which did manage to pin point the hotel and eventually we found it, however the hotel is located in a 'Piazza' and while this may be obvious to locals, it's a basically a squareish open area, which also means that it's a pedestrian area and cars are somewhat barred from entry, so getting in is through a side street the other 2 obvious entry ways are barred with small pillar barriers, (see map included in photos).
Comfortable and Clean, the rooms are bit on the small side, but space is always at a premium when 'staying in the city' and you're out seeing the sights anyway, there is so much to see in firenze!
Staff was pleasant and helpful, just don't ask for directions to the hotel ;)

We wanted to be at the centre of things and not pay mad money but having walked round Florence for three days we feel pretty sure we might just have bagged a more atmospheric place to stay. The hotel is fine - brand new, beautifully fitted out, great beds and linens. stunning spa, nice staff, fine breakfast. So what's my gripe? Well, it hit 41 degrees while we were there. We arrived hypoglycaemic. shattered, hot to a room that smelt of Germolene and and was stifling, having no air. Fair enough, after I complained of they gave us a card that allowed us to leave the a/c on while we went out to eat and eventually the room was fine, ambience wise. But I longed for a bit of sitting out space and a bit of atmosphere, which this place doesn't really have space for.

BUT- they bent over backwards to help and the spa has the most marvellous water therapy (jacuzzis, a muscle pounding waterfall thing that saved us after our long days on the culture trail, steam rooms, "emotional" showers!!) that we really cannot complain. And it's quiet - you will sleep like a loggia!

After eventually finding this place hot and bothered and not being able to check in before 2,30 , we eventually fell in love with Florence the hotel the food the people, one complaint was also with the air conditioning wich didnt seem to work but hopefully they fix that problem , This hotel would have to be in the best position in Florence and we highly reccomend it...

As I got married in Italy my Husband and I decided to stay on in Italy for the honeymoon. I booked this hotel by e-mail as I wanted the room that was on the website with the stone wall behind the bed. On arrival the staff were brilliant and had great English. When we arrived into the room it was just as I had expected and was really well done...my husband thought it was a little small but with the bathroom and wardrobes off the room via a corridor I thought it was prefect...they even left a bottle of bubbly and some nibbles and italian biscuits!!

We decided to order room service as we so tired from travelling, the food was amazing..we never got to eat in the hotel after that but the breakfast too was very good. Location wise it was prefect and close to everything..all the sight-seeing stuff and all teh good shops and restaurants...there is a street around the corner "Via di Parione" which had some really good restaurants.

I think I loved the hotel as the bed itself was great with extra pillows (some hotels have gotten very mean) and had all the things a girls likes...robes /slippers /turn-down service /cleaning of the room everyday with no extra cost. The wellness centre is lovely and even while there the staff will come in and fold your towels etc. The SPA is great too, I had a facial and massage that were great. I can't comment on tv stations as it was World Cup Season so thats all we were interested in but I don't think the selection was good...but you don't need good tv when in Florence!! The hotel bar was also a good place to sit and have a beer...€8 a bottle but we weren't getting it much cheaper elsewhere.

So we pretty much had a great stay and I feel it was the little extras that made it for us!!!
