"Il magnifico" is located in a very nice building in a lovely little park. Central location, beautiful neighbourhood at the river. Leticia and Alain welcomed us very warmly in their B&B with a personal touch - a clean and beautiful place which made us feel at home instantly. Nothing more to wish for - an exceptional choice to stay in Florence if you can't afford an expensive glossy place!! Also if you are travelling with children, I would greatly recommend this place. All but complicated, with a great heart for kids and animals! I feel very grateful and would always come back.

Staying here has been a great experience, we was greeted superbly well and a full brief was given to us about the hotel and the best things to do and see in the city, I really liked the tips they gave us for places to eat as eating out in Florence can be quite expensive, so we was lucky to be able to eat in places where it wasn't so expensive but the food was really top quality. The hotel kept at a high standard and so is the service, the stuff is friendly and the location is great for sight seeing. Definitely a place that I recommend staying.

We had a little bit of trouble finding the place - which is just next to Ponte alle Grazie and is situated inside a park (it was raining so it was kind of hard to navigate). Alan greeted us warmly even though we were a bit late, and gave us a thorough introduction of the area and pointed out good restaurants to go, which were all amazing.
There are quite a few stairs but less than I expected from reading the comments off others.
Breakfast again was simple but serve in the room, which was very convenient, the coffee machine was amazing even though I only used it for hot chocolate!
We were allocated our own bathroom (which was NOT en suite, but we knew that so it was ok) very clean and nice.
Our room was very spacious, they even added a bed for us and there were still plenty of room left.
Alan and Letizia are extremely helpful, even helped me print off last minute documents for museums immediately before we leave in the morning.
The hostel is extremly close to attractions as Florence isn't a big city anyway, the SMN station is only half an hour's walk (about 10-15 minutes by bus), which was about the furthest attraction away!
The only slightly bad thing was the room isn't very sound proof so we could hear next door going out and our own door creak loudly too whenever we open it - but this is a very minor problem.
Me and my friends enjoyed our stay there immensely and if we ever go back to Florence we will definitely stay again!

Room Tip: the rooms to the left of the B&B has the best view

You will not find a better place to stay in Florence! The owners of this B&B are extremely nice and they will really take all the time you want to help you get settled in. I have spent the last 3 months exploring Europe via Hostels and B&B's and this has been my favorite out of all of them.

You feel like you’re really part of Florence here – high pressed ceilings, views over the old quarter and a stone’s throw from the Ponte Vecchio. If you’ve large bags, beware that there’s lots of stairs but there’s good coffee and clean comfortable rooms at the top!

I was doing a trip through Italy with girlfriend and friends and in Florence we had the best lodging experience thanks to Il Magnífico. The B&B is owned and run by a very simpathic and helpful chineese couple, Alain and Letizia (their ocidental names). Since days after I booked, they already showed to be very helpful, sending emails with extremely useful information not only about florence but about Italy in general, including information that would only be useful for other hotels in other cities. When we arrived there we were surprised by the fact that Alain speaks very good portugueese, and with Brazilian slangs (he learned with Brazilian friends). He spent about 20 minutes explaining everyting about the room and the city, including information that people usually don´t give, such as the cheapest restaurants and the touristy ones we should avoid. Then, he made us cofee (capuccinos, as we choosed) and kept talking, giving us hints and everything. We also were provided a bottle of wine from Toscana. The room was very big and had a breathtaking view to the Arno river, the Basilica di Santa Croce, the Cathedral and most of Florence´s tallest Landmarks. The breakfast stays in the room since the night before so you can eat whenever you want and not worry about the time, besides, the cofee machine in the kitchen (the one with the capsules, like "Nespresso", and with the thing that puts steam into the milk, so you can make any kind of cofee you want) is avaliable all the time with no extra charge. The location is also excelent, it is right in front of Ponte Alle Grazie, which is the bridge besides the Ponte Vechio, the most famous one with the colored houses and jewelry shops. In sum: perfect location, the most attentive staff ever and nice breakfast and cofee. Totally recomended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the window facing the Arno river. We got one without asking.

I honestly don't know how this isn't the best B&B in the city!
It's perfect central location means that everything is within walking distance.
Alain and Letezia are fabulous hosts! They are so friendly and helpful. Not just once you are there either. Within 5 minutes of booking a double room Letezia had emailed me with full directions for either car or train travel, offered a double bed or two singles and included a quick note about where to buy tickets to main attractions.
From the minute you reserve a room, you will be looked after so well.

We checked in at 7:45pm and Alain met us at the door, showed us to our room and gave us a full tour. He then preceeded to sit down and give us a full city map and point out everything we could need, including supermarkets, sightseeing locations, cafeteria and restaurants.

Our room was fantastically furnished and decorated with a huge double bed (as I requested). The ensuit bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower was a good pressure and temperature.

The breakfast for each room is set out on a tray in your room and consists of milk, juice, croissant and toast with jam and Nutella. One of the facilities not listed is the Nesspresso machine available 24 hours a day. Unlimited coffees certainly livens up an otherwise standard breakfast.

Other bonuses included a welcome gift in the form of a bottle of local red wine and a gorgeous balcony from which to enjoy said gift!

If you want a "magnifico" stay in Firenze this is the B&B to go to! The value for money is fantastic, I have never seen better honestly. I would stay here again and again and again. Bring your kids (they have a family room), bring your friends (for a quad room) or just bring that special someone and have the luxury all for yourself. Regardless of your plans in Firenze, this is where you absolutely must stay!
