“Charming b&b in a very central location”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Location is excellent. 10 - 15 mins walk to the SMN Firenze station, or 10 eur of you have too many luggage. Mins walk to major sights like the Cathedral (Duomo), ponte vecchio, piazza repubblica, etc. Lots of shopping (designer and others) nearby. There is a supermarket right beside Badia that opens till 21:30, very convenient.
Bruno is very helpful Via
email since we booked. Our room with ensuite bathroom is very spacious. The b&b has 6 rooms. Nice place if u are looking for a b&b.

We only stayed here one night but were provided a lovey room, with bathroom in a very cute yet tucked away part of the old town.

This is literally in the middle of everything, almost hidden so it's very quiet and peaceful outside the place itself. Within a minute or two you are being dazzled by Florence!

The Father and daughter running the place were sooooo nice and friendly, you will love them!

The accommodation has a touch of class and quality about it and feels like a very nice home away from home. It's very good value for money and clean as a whistle.

The only negatives I will mention are the steps which are considerable and our shower flooded a couple of times, minor issues and nothing I wouldn't expect from a little guest house in a 500 year old building!

I would return gear in a flash...

My stay in March was absolutely wonderful. Bruno went out of his way to accommodate me. Upon arrival he helped bring my luggage up to the B&B. The Superior en-suite room was spacious and clean and quiet. Breakfast of fresh pastry, juíce, yoghurt, tea/coffee was just enough. Bruno also gave you a map of the city and marked all the places of interest. I hope to return to Badia Fiorentina in the very near future. Highly recommended!

The B&B is a lovely place and has a friendly and very accommodating host who is always in for a chat and helps you where he can. It's also situated in a great location. Thanks for having us Bruno and I'm looking forward to seeing you again in 2 years time!

Our stay at the Badia was lovely thanks to our host, Bruno! He added a personal local touch to our time in Florence that we could not get any other way and are extremely grateful for. The value was in line with the accommodations - modest, clean, comfortable. We were in a room with a private external bathroom, which was not a big deal at all. We opted for breakfast each morning, which was plenty and a great way to start the day - croissants (jam/nutella), yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee. Great central location. I look forward to returning to the Badia on my next visit and would recommend this hotel to travelers who are interested in a personal and local experience and dont need lots of frill.

Room Tip: The room next to ours (possibly #3) has a very sweet sitting area by a window that looked charming...

This is the second stay at the B&B for our family. Bruno is exceptionally nice and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable, breakfast is a pastry & fruit with drinks. Location is great for walking the city. Sadly, the internet service was down for a few days this time, but that was not the case on other visits. You will enjoy getting to know Bruno and spending time in Florence.

Previous good trip advisor reviews and competitive pricing were the reasons we picked Badia. Apart from a good location I could not understand the high marks this place received. Bruno tried to jack up our pricing by claiming Expedia transmitted a wrong credit card # and he could not honor the original deal. Bruno went into ranting and raving until we proved that was nonsense. Not the welcoming attitude we thought we'd receive.

He did give us a decent apartment, as opposed to just a room, where almost everything worked. He did not provide soap or shampoo. It was also quite dusty and gritty. Noise was a factor, but that's just the historic area of Florence. No breakfast provided and internet was not functional but was too tired to argue further.

Needless to say, there are tons of other places for us to get other reservations in the future. Caveat emptor.

Room Tip: If you decide to stay here, get everything in writing from Bruno.
