An excellent choice of hotel within easy walking distance to most of Florence's great sights. The hotel seemed fairly new, well equipped, with a large bedroom, all seemed spotlessly clean. The breakfast was continental in style, but there was plenty of choice. I would certainly recommend especially to someone who was travelling by train, as very easy walking distance to the station as well. The neighbourhood had recently been given a makeover and we experienced no hassles walking at night, with plenty of good restaurants in the local area. Although our room looked out over Santa Maria square there was no noise audible in the room.

Booked this little beauty online based on Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed with our 3 night stay. A modern chic interior with a huge centre stairwell. Well equipped rooms, comfortable and clean. Bathroom on the small side but this is in keeping with Italian style. Daily room service and Excellent Buffet breakfast provided. Cuckoo clock a nice touch afixed to the wall. Staff a lttle aloof at first but warmed to our good nature and use of Italian by stays end! Great location just a walk from Central Railway Station and fronting main Piazza. Florence is a compact city and lot of sightseeing can be done on foot from the Hotel. Loved the small cobbled laneways. Just Loved Florence.

Room Tip: Cannot fault it!

We stayed in Hotel Rosso 23 for 3 nights. It is a very nice hotel located right on Piazza Santa Maria Novella. This means that the train and bus station was a five minute walk from the hotel. All the museums, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio are also very close (Florence is a very small town so you need not to worry about long distances).

The staff were very friendly and they all spoke english very well. The room (212) was big enough for the two of us. The bathroom - and especially the shower - was a bit small but still ok. The decoration was fine, plain and modern. Breakfast was very good with many choices. The only negative I can think of is that it did not have free wi-fi, but the price of 5 euros that it charged for the entire 3-days-stay was more than fair.

We booked this hotel for 85 euros per night and I think it was worth a lot more! I highly recommend it!

The location of the hotel is great ! Rooms were always very clean and also very nicely decorated. We stayed in the double room with a French bed which means that the room is a little smaller that the standard double room. The room was still nice but the shower is a little too small. The breakfast was yummy and the staff were very helpful ! Will definitely return again.

Stayed in quad room with two small children which was just enormous! Lovely view on the piazza, fairly quiet apart from taxi drivers honking their horns until midnight. Very comfortable room with lovely bed and a really an unusually enormous space. Very plentiful and varied breakfast. Just 5 minutes walk from the Duomo. All new, loads of plugs and lovely modern bathrooms.
NB to first time visitors - don't come by car. It's very hard to find due to Florence's crazy system of roads and it outfoxes all navigators. Come by train (also because garage costs in Florence are from 30 to 45 euro per day).

My two daughters (19 and 22) and I stayed at Rosso 23 for four nights. The place was a bit hard to find as the sign is tiny in the doorway. Once we were inside, we were welcomed cordially, and shown directly to our room. We had requested a triple, and it was comfortable for the three of us. It had a large king bed and a cot, flat screen TV and a small but nice bathroom. It was clean and kept clean each day by the hotel. There were windows facing the inside space between our building and the next, so it was quiet. The hotel is very modern, all in red, gray and white. Breakfast is included each morning and it was wonderful, though no hot food was served. Breads, cereals, meats, cheeses, yogurts and fruits were plentiful. And coffee and juices too of course! There was internet wi-fi service for a small fee. It worked fairly well.

The location was perfect for walking around...it is located a street away from the train station, right on the Piazza Novella where a beautiful church sits. Walking from there to anywhere in central Florence was easy and safe. It is near wonderful restaurants that need no reservation, just walk in and be amazed by the service and food. Shopping is nearby, modern stores and leather stalls alike. The Duomo was down the street, and the Ufizzi a short distance as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

We found this gem thru tripadvisor . Great location ( just 1 block from the train station ) and one can practically walk to any attraction . The hotel employees are very helpful, the breakfast was excellent ( and the waitress !!! Mamma mia ... ) . One has got to like the cuckoo clock in the room . The room was of a good size, the bathroom was really small , but worked fine. DO NOT eat at the restaunt just outside of the hotel ( as far as I know, not related ) the food was terrible . For eating try "Trattoria Al Trebbio, 1 block away or less . Firenze is very beautiful , but in my honest opinion it goes to the list of " been there , done that " . If I had to return , I would definetely go back to Rosso 23 . BY THE WAY , the HOTEL has NO SIGN on it . I guess because it's a historical building . Ask anyone and they will tell you where it's is. I asked the guy at the newspaper stand almost in front of the hotel . Hey , after traveling with kids and lots of luggage , you ask for all of the help you need, believe me .
