“Perfect Boutique Hotel in Florence!”
Reviewed 4 June 2010

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Rosso23 for two nights and loved the hotel! The accommodations were modern, clean and comfortable. We had a standard double room on the third floor with a view of the Duomo out our window. Buffet breakfast was excellent as was the coffee! Front desk staff was extremely helpful in assisting us with restaurant suggestions and maps. I was so happy that I booked this hotel!

My sister came to Florence in September and suggested this hotel to us. This hotel is okay. The service is great as they are very helpful. But the room is very small and awkward. The bed is comfortable and the semi clean.

It is very expensive for the price we get. But very close to train station and market. Breakfast was not so good either.

We actually really enjoyed our stay in Florence, though the hotel would definitely not be the highlight of our time there. The location is fantastic, especially if you are traveling to Florence by train. Rooms were on the small side, and the shower is TINY! I'm pretty petite (5'4"), but even I felt a little uncomfortable in that shower. Also, our room did not have a safe, which I wasn't thrilled about. Breakfast here had more variety than most properties and was a huge plus for my husband. I do appreciate friendly and helpful staff, and really, this hotel did not have it. We always felt like we were a burden to them when we asked them anything. They hardly ever smiled at us or went out of their way to help with a friendly suggestion of what to see or where to eat. That was very unfortunate, but definitely did not spoil our time in Florence. However, the hotel did provide good value for our money, and I would consider staying here again when we return to Florence.

We booked a superior double room overlokking the piazza. We had room 114 on the first fllor which was enormous and had a balcony. Highly recommended , 115 would be the same. Our friend had a room overlooking the light well and she was very satisfied.
Be aware some web sites have confusing room descriptions, double check superior is overlooking the piazza as they are larger.

Staff were really helpful and happily booked reataurants. The breakfast staff were very efficient , there were some problems of space when the courtyard area isnt in use. Location is good , 5 mins from station , quiet at night and walking distance to all attractions.

Only a 5 minute walk from the train station so this is very convenient. Nice décor in the hotel and rooms but the rooms are quite dim. Breakfast is great with good selection for everyone. The beds were the most comfortable for our entire trip and the pillows are medium fluffy and not that flat. The shower stall was incredibly tight however for our room. So make sure you get a room that doesn’t have a corner shower stall like 202. The staff at the hotel are mediocre. Each of the different hotel staff were able to answer our questions half-heartedly when we asked for the weather forecast, flight status or restaurants for locals. Internet is 5 euros for 24 hours. Overall, I would still stay there again.

We booked this Hotel through expedia, The room we thought we had booked was superior double with french bed. When we checked in and shown to the room it was a small single room with a double bed. Our friends had a large room overlooking the Square which was lovely. My husband complained at the reception and was told that a double superior room with french bed did not exist and was asked for a copy of the details. The person on reception said he would show the details to the manager and see if we could be moved the next day, of course we didn't move. The staff are friendly and the hotel is spotless. If the room had been bigger the hotel would have been perfect.

My bf and I stayed there last September. The hotel is in a good location if traveling by train, very close to the train station, also suited in a peaceful piazza. There's also some very good restaurants near by (must try Trattoria Sostanza and Il Latini), and easy walk to all attractions. We stayed in a superior room for 3 nights. The room is very spacious (HUGE with high ceiling), elegantly decorated (simple but with a little bit luxury feel), king size bed very comfortable. The bathroom is ok size but the shower/toilet position is kinda odd.

The breakfast buffet has good variety (ham, cheese, fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc) served in a delightful dining room. The receptionists are also very friendly and helped us phone couple restaurants beforehand to make reservations.

The only downside of this hotel is there are several restaurants next door, so those rooms facing the piazza (and only those superior rooms are facing the piazza) could hear the noise from the outdoor seating of the restaurants. This can be a little disturbance for light sleeper. (but quiet after 11pm when the restaurants are closed)

But overall I like the this hotel a lot, it has a cozy atmosphere with low key elegance to it. It's a great steal with the quality of the room and location for its price. Highly recommended!
