“Great food experiance”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We have had dinner at this wonderful restaurant many times. Foos is always consistent and the wine is wonderful. Best florentine steak. The owners are wonderful people who we have come to love over the years. The pasta is put of this world as well. A definite must if you are in florence.

“Should be named Paradise!”
Reviewed 16 June 2014 via mobile

We are a family of five. Two adults and three kids, ages 5,3, and 6 months. We arrived at 1830 on a Monday with no reservations. They were closed. However, while we were standing outside, with a screaming baby, trying to decide where to go next, they opened the door and invited us in for drinks until the kitchen opened at 1930. Again, our baby was SCREAMING, and they invited us in! We then met Momma. The owner and heart of the place. She was gracious and complementary. She held our baby and kissed our other two as if they were family. They brought us sparkling wine and bread while we waited. Every part of the meal was above expectation. The starter, risotto and bistecca were all perfection. The cheesecake and chocolate mousse were the best! The whole experience felt like we were jn Momma's home, not a restaurant.

“Crazy value”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

We were looking for an apertivo at about 7:00 while we waited for the restaurant we planned to try to visit to open. We asked in broken Italian if we could just come in for a glass of wine (there is not a bar per se here, just tables) and were happily flagged in. We chose a half carafe of the house red at €6 since everything else was by the bottle only. The waiter (owner?) brought us a full bottle, winked, and said "half carafe!" He proceeded to bring us a basket of breads and an unsolicited appetizer of delicious grilled eggplant and quiche. When we went to pay we were told "ok, €6" and we felt like we'd gotten away with something. Great value, nice people, wish we had stayed for dinner!

“Cozy neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

A family run restaurant with good traditional food for casual tourists. Very friendly owners cuddle out-of-towners explaining Italian food basics from their set menu. No buzz but a lot of noise from the happy Japanese and Brits enjoying themselves. Excellent ingredients but as expensive as many more "in" restaurants where alas the tourists in T-shirts and backpacks would not feel as welcome or comfortable.

“OMG”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

What a fantastic experience. I have not seen this on any guidebook and we took a flyer here on a review in Bon Appetiti. The shrimp risotto was the best risotto I have found anywhere.....dreamy. Mama treated us well and Papa too. The Bistecca Florentine was fabulous and served perfectly.....I am not sure if this place gets the recs but it was full on a Tuesday night and full with locals. We were the only English speakers in there. Highly Recommended!
