The room was perfect!! We were in Europe for 2 weeks & this was the best room we stayed in. Unbelieveably spacious. The view was spectacualar & it was the best shower I had in 2 weeks. We only stayed 1 night & I wish we would've stayed a bit longer.
The front desk spoke very little English but were very helpful & offered to make a reservation for us to see the David Sculpture so we wouldn't have to wait in line. Very kind of them! The hotel is very central....we walked everywhere.

Traveling with family and friends to Florence this spring, Hotel Palazzo Guadagni was truly the perfect place to stay. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff were there to assist with our needs from museum reservations to restaurant recommendations. The rooms were spacious and charming - bathrooms were modern and very clean! Great views of the Pitti Palace from my room! Breakfast was available in a sunny room, filled with windows that brought in the Florence spirit each morning. The loggia provided a wonderful place to meet and chat about the day! A true feeling that you are a Florentine during your visit here. A 5 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio! A must stay in Florence!

Although we couldn't get our first choice of hotels in Florence, they recommended the Palazzo Guadagni. What a find! first of all, the room was the biggest that I've ever had in Europe. The bathroom was equally large. Unlike a few reviews, I liked the Piazza Santo Spirito area. Very hip, with a few cool restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. It's being restored right now and will be much nicer when the work is finished.

Only about a 10 minute walk to the Piazza Republica, it was close enough to get to the sites, but far enough not to be swamped with (other) tourists at night.

The hotel has a fabulous outside porch for taking in the atmosphere at night with a glass of wine. We didn't get a chance to use it as much as we'd have wanted, but will on a more leisurely return visit.

The staff was very helpful and couldn't have been more cordial. I love the place.

I just got back from a trip to Florence and while I was there I stayed at the Palazzo Guadagni. Each room is unique and very comfortable. The staff is extremely kind and they go out of their way to do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. They have a great loggia where you can relax after touring all of the museums and crowds. In fact, it feels like a respite from all of the crowds in the city center. The rooms are spacious and the amenities are very nice. The breakfast is lovely and very comfortable. I will stay at Palazzo Guadagni every time I go back to Florence. It's a wonderful place!

The staff are exceptional - nothing is too much trouble. They will book activities and outings and do what they can to make your trip go well. The rooms are large, and spotless. The terrace is great to sit out on in the evening. The building is old - and the accommodation reflects its age and faded grandeur - don't expect modern luxury, but it is comfortable and clean. The Ponte Vecchio is about 15 minutes walk away. La Casalinga is a great restuarant less than 5 minutes away. Several good restaurants and cafes in the square. Organic market at weekend. Fewer tourists and lots of artisans' shops in the area. Nightly concerts by local professional opera singers at nearby St Mark's in Via Maggio are a must.

We stayed at the Guardagni for two nights in April. The hotel is located on the Piazza Santo Spirito, a short (5 minute) walk from the Ponte Vecchio. The Piazza itself is perhaps not the greatest place - quite a few undesirables seem to "hang out" on the steps of the church - but once you are in the hotel it is really calm and quiet. Best though to have a room on the back of the hotel because the night life in the Piazza seems quite lively!
The staff - from the receptionist to the lady who served us breakfast, and the owners whom we had the privilege to meet - are simply delightful. All speak very good English and go out of their way to help. The other guests at the hotel were a mixture of Europeans and Americans. However the room - at least our room, I didn't see any others - was rather sparsely furnished and seemed a bit bare. (No carpets, no curtains etc) There was really no place to sit comfortably, but this was offset by the nice couches and chairs in the hall outside and the wonderful loggia which, in warm weather, would be really terrific! Our bathroom was somewhat basic but extremely clean and aside from the fact that there were no facecloths or kleenex I have no complaints.
The breakfast buffet was fine, though I personally would have like some "real" cheese instead of a sort of Bel Paese substitute and a slice of bread rather than little rolls. But there was plenty to choose from - fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, pastries etc. And as much coffee or tea etc as one would like, all very cheerfully served by Rita.
In sum I think the Guardagni makes a good place for a reasonably-priced base in Florence. More B&B than "hotel" but given all the restaurants etc in Florence one doesn't really need more...

Room Tip: Request a room on the back - it will be quiet!

Dear Madame,
thank you very much for your beautiful comment. We are very glad that you really enjoyed your stay to Palazzo Guadagni and we really hope that you'll be back in Florence to visist us again.
We know the noise from the Square but it's very youthful and every night there are lots of people. Anyway for the next time that you want to come to Palazzo Guadagni we are going to book a nice room on the back.
Thank you
Best regards

I had the pleasure to stay at Palazzo Guadagni for 2 nights with my daughter and then returned a few days later with my daughter and a friend for 3 nights. The hotel is across the river from the main attractions but it is only a short walk to get to any of them. The hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating - helped us get museum reservations, gave us great restaurant trips, provided us with internet access when needed. The rooms are oversized as are the bathrooms. Breakfast was terrific. Our first room overlooked a courtyard which was very quiet. The second room overlooked the square which was a happening place at night. Unfortunately for us we had to be up each morning at 6:30 to get to tours that we were booked on so we couldn't take advantage of the nightlife. It was also noisy if you wanted to go to bed early. If you have an early morning schedule ask for a back room. We would definitely come back to this hotel
