Room is so spacious to the extent you can't believe it. Great restaurants just downstairs which serve amazing local food. Staff are very helpful. From hotel to downtown it is more than 10 mins walking distance, not bad at all.

Just returned from two nights at this smart, friendly hotel in the Santa Spirito quarter of Florence. Fantastic location overlooking the quiet square which gently hums with locals and tourists sitting at bars and restaurants. The hotel is in a former palace and the highlight must be the terrace - the views of the city are breathtaking and the ideal tonic after a day sightseeing. Child friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Good breakfast and very helpful staff. Recommended.

Great Hotel, Perfect location on the south side of the Arno, away from all the mad tourist areas. Lovely room with high painted ceiling, fantastic second floor terrace - ideal for relaxing after a hard days sight seeing, the hotel can provide drinks and snacks while you take in the sights and sounds of Piazza Santo Spirito outside. Breakfast was perfect and can be taken in the fantastic breakfast room or out on the terrace. A special thanks to all the staff who where brilliant, especially Rita who looked after us in the mornings. We will return soon..

Situated in Piazza Santo Spirito, a lively market place in the morning, where locals sit in the shade and pass the time of day, this wonderfully quirky hotel, with its grand loggia and spacious rooms is ideal for those wishing to enjoy a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail.
The hotel is a short step from all the important sites, including Santo Spirito itself, and from some notable local restaurants. Ferdinando, Lara and all the staff were extremely helpful and ensured that our stay was memorable for all the right reasons.
My husband is quite severely physically disabled, but using the lift presented no problems at all. We will definitely stay there again!!!

We stayed during our recent visit in July to Florence at the Palazzo Guadagni. You shoudl be aware that you either need to walk up a number of steps or use a small elevator. However, the place and staff were great. They we very helpful arranging for our tour and museum visits. There were 4 of us, so we stayed in teh family room. Very comfortable and roomy. Most of all, we loved sitting on the balcony off the lobby at nights and enjoying the view of Florence. Magical. Also enjoyed the square below the hotel which had several good restaurants and of course Gellato. Take-out pizza place around the corner was simply amazing! Overall, would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: There were four of us, so we stalyed in the family room. A couple of the beds were smaller, but OK...

by far my favorite hotel from my 11 days in 4 Italian cities. the location (just south of the river) is perfect -- close to great restaurants and bars but away from the crazy tourist areas. at the same time, because Florence isn't so big, it's only a 15 minute walk from the Duomo and other sites. the room was huge, the service was fantastic, and they even catered to my dietary needs with gluten-free breakfast options. i would definitely go back!

Room Tip: wifi may not work in rooms but works well in the lobby, lounge, and patio

Palazzo Guadagni has become a second home for us since my husband and I just completed our sixth stay this summer. This hotel is very special to us for three important reasons. First, it is family owned and operated by Ferdinando and Laura, two very special people who take pride in their establishment and are concerned with every facet of care and operation. Second, the historical building itself located in Santo Spirito, is a real residential neighborhood where Italians live, work, eat and shop. Third, the size and décor of the rooms will make you wish you were staying for at least a month (alas, we were only there for 3 weeks in July).
All the rooms at Palazzo Guadagni are unique in size and floorplan, beautifully decorated with antique furniture, gorgeous fabrics and large modern bathrooms which include hand-painted tiles. Many rooms still contain the original frescoed ceiling and perhaps a fireplace. All rooms have an antique armoir, dresser, nightstands, table, chairs and mirror or a combination of these items. Huge framed windows offer an intersting view of the city. The most charming feature of the hotel is the rooftop loggia, which you will only find in a few Florentine palazzos. Sit outside for breakfast or enjoy an evening cocktail which admiring the view of the city.
The beautifully appointed breakfast room serves an ample breakfast which you will need for a full day of sightseeing. Please note the intricate molding on the ceiling and color scheme, isn’t it beautiful? I certainly wish I had a room like this in my house!
Lastly, Ferdinando and Laura, as well as their staff, will do everything possible to make your stay a delightful experience. If you need restaurant reservations, a taxi, museum information/bookings, or any general information, they are more than happy to help you with any inquiry.
Additionally, the hotel is a short walk to Pitti Palace, many restaurants, shops and places of interest.
I hope that you will enjoy your stay at Palazzo Guadagni as much as I do.
