Having found Florence a very expensive place to eat (due in no small part to the present sterling rate of exchange) I saw shop owners from the Ponte Vecchio enter a nearby Bar for their lunch. The menu was ideal for quick dining i.e. pizza, pasta, etc., at a sensible price for a midday meal. Very limited seating area but we never had to wait, the staff were extremely welcoming and, having dined at far more expensive restaurants recommended on tripadvisor, I have no hesitation in suggesting that you give this a try for a cheap adequate meal.
