We visited for a bite of lunch.

The service was polite, although a little slow to take our initial order (10 minute wait for menu then another 5 to order once we were ready).

The menu is a typical Italian selection.

I opted for Ravioli filled with potato and bolognaise sauce. This was enjoyable, but I must be honest I have had tastier meals from the Microwave. The sauce lacked a little flavour and was quite ordinary.

My partner had fresh pasta with tomatoes and this was a little better. A good sized portion.

Good value for money, but not a place to go out of your way to visit. Also the toilets were a bit of a state.

We ate here twice during our latest trip in November. Late lunch both times, and we took advantage of the 15 euro special that included a primo and secondo piatto and a beverage. The pastas are perfectly cooked-we sampled both penne ragu and arrabbiata, one in our party had the ribollita, and we had the pork steak which is grilled and the lemon scallopine of pork. Excellent place you will not regret visiting. Attentive service and the entire operation seems to consist of the chef/owner and the waiter-who watch and anticipate when everyone is ready for the next course.

We stopped here for our last meal in Florence before heading to Rome. Tucked away, it had to be one for the best - if not the best - meal we enjoyed in Florence. Not only was it extremely affordable (frankly, knowing the quality, we'd pay pretty much anything), but the dishes we're so savory and satisfying that words cannot do it justice. We enjoyed the prosciutto with bufala mozzarella which was so fresh - we watched the chef slice our prosciutto - and the mozzarella so soft and creamy.... Wow. Then, we had the pici al pomodoro and the pasta with truffles - to die for. We didn't talk the whole meal because our senses were overcome with the deliciousness of the meal that we couldn't speak. The authenticity of the meal cannot be challenged. Plus, the staff were delightful. Numero uno on our list.

We had a readonable meal here tonight. My steak was excellently cooked but coved in too much sauce so the taste if the meat was madked somewhat. My wife had the carbonara which although she smiled politely didn't look that appetising. Her mum had the lemon pork escallope which wasn't what she had ordered but she said she enjoyed it none the less. House wine was good and service attentive. All in all an ok experience but not noteworthy either.

Okay.. Florence in a day? (Not for the faint of heart!) You've got to eat somewhere and it might as well be here! Yummy!
Cheers!
