“Excellent tour - educational without being pretentious”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

I took the Chianti Classico half-day tour. One of the highlights of my trip to Tuscany. I don't have much of a background in wine, and the tour did a great of clearly explaining the basics of wine tasting and production. The vineyards were beautiful and the wine and food were delicious. We got to try 9 different wines, which I felt was very good value for the tour.

I was the only solo traveller on the tour, but because the tour group was relatively small, I didn't feel alone in a sea of couples.

“Fantastic Day of Eating and Drinking”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

The first thing we'd like to mention is that the lunch on this tour was AMAZING. Seriously, it was an incredible meal, one of the best lunches we've ever eaten. We ate at "Antica Macelleria Cecchini" in Panzano, which is run by a globally-known chef. Our tour group talked about how this needs to be a primary selling point, because it's not really highlighted when you buy the tour packages. Lunch aside, the rest of the tour was great. Pierre (an owner of the company) was a superb tour guide - he had a fun, simple way of presenting everything. By the end of the tour, he was pretty much part of the group. You'll get plenty to drink and eat on this tour, along with it being a lot of fun. Well worth the price!

“Salute!!!”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Our family had a fabulous day on our wine tour with Matteo. He was knowledgable, friendly, and a pleasure to spend the day with. He explained the history of the area and wine and olive oil production. We had a such a fun lunch at the butcher shop with Dario Cecchini..everyone enjoyed trying the food and wine and chatting with Matteo and guests. On the way back, Matteo took us to Piazza S.Stefano. The walled town was beautiful, the views spectacular. The countryside is truly a magnificent !!
I would recommend this tour to anyone...ask for Matteo, he was outstanding!

“Cookin Chianti Food”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Denise and I had a wonderful time learning how to make good wholesome Italian pasta with pure ingredients. Kimberly our guide for the day and Wilma our cooking instructor are very knowledgable, good at what they do and fun to be around.

The lunch which we made was tasty and deliciousand with good conversation. And of course the wine that was served from the Chianti region was smooth, full bodied and very good.

The tour of the olive making operation was informative and interesting. Lots of questions were asked about olive oil and were answered. We learned what olive oil to purchase. We had a nice light meal at the owners home in the middle of Tuscany. The owner was nice to open up her home for us to tour. She was pleasant and cheerful with wonderful conversation. We also met some of the locals and conversed with them as well.

And of course we went all around and witnessed the beauty of the Tuscan countryside that is simply breathtaking.

We were in Florence 7 days and can say that this was at the top of our highlight list.

In short what this provided was a window into Florence/Tuscany, how people lived, ate, cooked, conversed that you would not get by just walking around a city new to you.

We highly recommend this experience.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

Our time in Florence was somewhat short, but we had booked a wine tour through this company a couple weeks in advance as wine is pretty much our favorite activity. Needless to say we were not disappointed with our selection. Our tour guide was Pierre one of the owners and his knowledge of wine, wit and charm, and overall passion for the wineries/tours is unmatched. We had a fantastic time in visiting two wineries and then stopping at the Mad Butcher for lunch. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for anything more in the tour. It was money well spent. The tour ended up being one of the highlights of our two weeks in Italy, and if we go back, we will definitely book again. If you like wine and food, we urge you to take this tour!
