The Hotel is beautiful, well appointed and views of the river are gorgeous. The rooms are well done and complete with amenities. Breakfast is wonderful, with plenty of choices and excellent coffee/cappuccino, and the dining room is beautiful. The staff is exceptional, and they seem to do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and lovely! It is not walking distance to the Center of Florence, and so the hotel does provide a shuttle for three time slots in the morning and three in the evening. This does mean you will spend more money on taxis, but it all seemed worth it. Overall, this hotel is elegant, fun and very special!

Room Tip: Do ask for a room with a view, and I believe they call these Superior rooms. Well worth it !

Our trip to Florence was decided on a quite Sunday afternoon and we left a week later. When looking for a place to stay I did not want a large modern hotel. What I got was perfect. Being on the outskirts of Florence provided the quiet and the care we were looking for. The view from the dining room and patio showed a calm pastoral scene with a fast river, people walking with their dogs and in the mornings the fishermen would settle in to do some fishing.

The staff was amazing. Emilo in the bar told us amazing stories about the 1966 flood, the affect of the economy after 9/11, and the history of the area all while preparing us amazing drinks. Breakfast each day was varied and provided what we needed to eat until we returned in the evening to visit the fine restaurant where the chef prepared typical Tuscan food-- fresh, flavorful and accompanied by a wonderful wine selection. Having free wi-fi helped us stay in touch with our families and friends. The shuttle provided took us back and forth to Florence through the maze of traffic and stone walls. It was always on time and even picked us up when we showed up early after a full day of visiting the art, history, and shopping that is Florence.

Room Tip: We enjoyed our room it was quiet. If you want to hear the river ask for a room upstairs facing the...

welll what an I say the place was fantastic after reading the reviews I knew it was a little way out of florence but it had its advantages after a day in the town it was quiet and the river views more than put you into the tuscany way of life I booked a room with a river view and was so pleased we had the windows open and could see and hear the rush of the water over the weir the staff were so attentive and friendly from the time you arrived to the time we left the rooms were spacious and very clean and no problems the food there was a good selection for all tastes in the morning whether you just wanted cereals/ toasts or a cooked breakfast we arrived back late from out tuscany tour and used the restaurant for a quick bite and glass of chianti lovely !! as we were out of town we never managed to use the free shuttle bus as it was always booked which you need to remember to do the night before but we were given the use of bikes to cycle into Florence whatan adventure and lots of fun on the river path (would like to have have some lights as it does get very dark ) but hey it was fun so good marks all around and would return to use this hotel again they were due to fill the swimming pool in 3-5 weeks so will bring my trunks next time !!! keep up the good work

Room Tip: choose a room with a river view well worth it

We just got back from our 2 weeks vacation in Italy. Florence was one of our stop and we stayed at the Mulino di Firenze hotel. All I can say is "exceptional" in everyway... the staffs were very friendly and helpful, the foods were very good (the best biscotti), inside the hotel/room was very clean and very cute. The location is a little hard to find but that applies to all if not most hotels Italy as the street sights are very small and not very good... so don't let the location scare you away :-)

This is a great place to stay on the outskirts of Florence. The settling, next to the river, is stunning and the rooms are clean and well supplied. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. Driving there for the first time was a challenge, even with a GPS. Putting the number 117 for the address got us closer than putting in 119, but we had to call the hotel to get this advise. Once we arrived, it was worth the trouble. Parking was easy and the free shuttle into town was efficient. Morning shuttles into town leave at convenient times. However, the last shuttle coming back to the hotel leaves Florence at about 7:30 so if you want to stay in town for dinner you have to take a cab back to the hotel (about 25 euros).

Room Tip: Next time I think that we would ask for a room with a view of the river. I think it would be worth...
