A very nice and friendly place. Although this B&B is 15 minutes away from the main piazza of Florence, it offers a nice taste of local Florentine lifestyle through its proximity to Piazza Savanorola. During the day the piazza is full of young children playing soccer and lounging seniors while in the evening, the gazebo bar opens and it becomes a bustling scene full of you people with a couple of close by restaurant options.

Ilaria and Ricardo, the owners of this B&B, are very accommodating and exciting. The rooms are spacious and spotless. Bathrooms have great good water pressure. Nice large kitchen with all the essentials and a very nice terrace with a lot of lighting. When the owners are not around, their son is around to answer any questions.

The nature of this B&B is also very comfortable and personable. The name is based off of Antoine de Saint-Exupery's "The Little Prince."

Try this place out! You won't regret it.

Room Tip: They're all quite spacious with a loft platform, usually where the bathroom is located. They all...

The room is the cleanest room I have ever stayed (among b&bs).
People are very kind and very nice.
There is a kind of music relaxing sofa that makes you relaxed after a hard walking day.
The breakfast was good and we could use the kitchen. Supermarket is near the b&b so we used to buy something and cook in the kitchen.
The b&b is as you see from the pictures, no tricks and fake :)
Very very very comfortable and nice! I recommend it to any of us!

Found this place on tripadvisor by chance. Was very concerned initially why this place is ranked 121th. After staying here from the 26th June- 29th June 2012. I really feel this place has not been given the credit they deserve.

Communicated on email before arrival a month back, I asked Ilaria the owner about directions to her place. She promptly replied that if I'm arriving from Rome, I could pick the train that arrives at Campo di Marte station. The B&B is just nearby.
So if you are taking a train to arrive , pick this station. Ilaria have very kindly offered to pick me up at the station on the day of my arrival which shows they are really keen on giving great service on their part. But I figure even if they can't make it, a taxi ride to their place won't cost more then $5 euro.
The room are split into 2 floors. A big king size bed downstairs and another big bed upstairs. Two aircon nicely cool the room before we arrived. Room were extremely clean and well maintained. There is more than enough space for a few big luggages and still got room for kids to run around. So family with young kids, this is a great place for you to start your trip in Florence.
And of course not forgetting the clean and well maintained toilet just like the room. Many electrical sockets for those who need to charge their cameras and stuff. Mineral water were replaced as soon as we emptied it.

This B&B have an interesting layout. First they have a common kitchen you could use. They have a nice breakfast room which no matter what time u pass by, it's full of drinks and biscuits all placed there for one to snack on. Breakfast is a simple fare of cakes, buns , a few types of bread , juices and coffee , but considering the amount we paid for the room a night, it's really a steal. They also have a nice open air terrace which you could use for breakfast but I won't suggest it in summer. In cooler weather, I'm sure it's really romantic.

Service - each day when we come back , not only is our room nice and clean but they turned on the air con to cool the room for us. It's this little gesture that made a big difference. We have stayed in all sorts of hotels before and only the 5/6 stars hotels does this turn down service. But of course they cost easily $450 euro a night. Ilaria and her husband were extremely helpful at all times with our questions and gave us all the necessary directions to move around. I felt bad that I had to ask them the same questions 2 days in a row. So maybe Ilaria , on reading this, write down the common directions on a paper to hand out to your guest like for example, take bus 17 heading to verga from Santa Marie train station and alight at conti bus stop. From conti bus stop, it's just 2 mins walk to B&B. Bus tickets can be bought in the bus at $2euro or at newspaper stands at $1.20 euro. SM station has a newspaper stand that sells.  Especially if one is here in Florence for this first time, too much information at one time will never register. So a little info written down can be useful.
Lastly, alittle downside to this place, sadly, there are stairs to coming up to the B&B. But a big strong Mr Ricardo helped me with my luggages when I arrived. Thankful for that. Maybe something can be done like a little ramp at the side of the stairs to roll our luggages up. That will save him some exercise.
Overall, this place is definitely value for money. Great for couples and family with kids.
Lilian and Gilbert.

Date of stay: May 27 - June 03, 2012 - 07 nights
No. persons: 02
Location - the hotel is located at a quiet street about 15 to 20 min walking from the Historic Center. A bus stops close to hotel and takes 10 min to Historic Center and 15 min to train station Santa Maria Novella. A bakery, a market, a pizzaria and a supermarket are a short distance from hotel.
The hotel interior is very nice. The suite is spacious, comfortable and luminous. The room service is very good, leaving it neat and clean.
The breakfast is basic: coffee, toast, butter, jam, cake and fruit.
The owners, Mrs. Ilaria and Mr. Ricardo, are very friendly and attentive. They make you feel at home in Piccolo Principe. They are always ready to help you, answering your doubts, and suggesting several things to do: typical foods, places to visit, tickets to attractions etc.
The Piccolo Principe is a great value for money.

I was at il Piccolo Principe in May for a short stay and I really appreciated the kindness and friendliness of Riccardo and Ilaria. I will go back to this comfortable and quiet little hotel which is placed in a residential area of Florence not too far away from the Duomo. The right spot if you want to enjoy Florence and be away from the noise and touristic area. An additional attraction in Il Piccolo Principe is certainly its "Acoustic Couch" and its therapeutic effects on your body through music vibration. A unique experience that you can only understand when you try it, after Riccardo will explain how it works.

I stayed with my partner at the Piccolo Principe for a weekend travel on Florence. The hotel is on a second floor (american standard) with no elevator. It has four cozy rooms. We were welcomed by Riccardo Ilaria's husband and he was very charm. He gave us the instructions and recommended some restaurants.

The room is quite comfortable, it is designed to inhabit four people and it also has a communal terrace and flat TV.

The bathroom is upstairs in the same room (it has a mezzanine) and is very well equipped.
Breakfast room is just outside the door, breakfast is OK. There is also a kitchen, but we didn't use, but it seems very useful for self-catering.

The hotel is not in the historic centre, but is close to it. in three blocks you are in there, and in 15-20 minutes (walking) you are in the Duomo.

In summary a good affordable option to go to Florence, and not be in the middle of the crowd.

Room Tip: Be aware to walk about half an hour from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. If you have luggage coul...
