“Nice Hotel”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

A nice hotel in a great location right on the Arno River. The breakfast buffet was excellent and even made eggs to order. The rooms were very nice and the service staff were always ready to help. From the hotel you can walk to all the sites and to the Ponte Vecchio.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the Arno

We spent 4 nights in Florence, and this was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in, anywhere, but it wasn't inexpensive. (We decided to splurge, as we didn't know when we'd be back. Also, we just couldn't find a moderately priced hotel that appealed, probably because we didn't plan far enough in advance. At least we got a special corporate rate, or this probably wouldn't have worked.)

We requested a view of the Ponte Vecchio, and they showed us a choice of rooms, one of which had a balcony with a view. We chose that one, even though we are guessing that it *must* have been the smallest room in the hotel. But the view...!! We loved it! We'd take that room again in an instant.

The hotel is in a very quiet location, overlooking the river.
But that meant it was a bit of a walk to get to the main sights. And with all the sightseeing, we were starting to get tired... (But taxi fare wasn't much, a good thing given that one of us had some difficulty with walking too far, as it unfortunately turned out.)

We had intended to use the spa for a couples massage (the spa was very inviting), but ... we ran out of time!

This was a "St. Regis", and we knew it!
It is a lovely and elegant hotel in a beautiful setting.
Service was excellent in every way.

We only ate one afternoon snack there on our arrival day. Their little café in front was just too inviting to pass up, but it was pricy (no surprise).
We intended to have at least one meal or a snack/champagne in their bar or dining room, but again, we ran out of time.
So we guess we need to return...!

The Concierge recommended 3 charming restaurants for dinner, all of which were big hits with us and some Italian friends that joined us for 3 days.

We stayed at the St. Regis Hotel for the Easter holiday 2014. We are lucky because we were firstly made a reservation at the Westin Excelsior Florence, but they were full house and accomodated us to the their chain hotel - St. Regis hotel which gave us a wonderful experience. My room was on the 4th floor with the Arno river view. The room was excellent, spacious and luxury. For the breakfast which I think, was the best in Europe and provided a wide variety of choices of food. The staff were helpful and always smile. I highly recommend to stay in the St. Regis and I am sure I will stay there again.

We spent a lovely week in this hotel over the Easter holiday. The staff works very hard to insure that your every need is met. The attention to detail is outstanding. We enjoyed a room overlooking the Arno with a lovely balcony that provided excellent views of the river and sunsets over the surrounding countryside.

The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. The concierge provided several outstanding recommendations for meals.

The hotel is the epitome of old world charm and elegance.

Room Tip: Please make sure to reserve a river view room. They are worth it!!!

What can I say about this hotel, other than what an amazing experience,

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt like a million dollars, this is what taking a holiday is all about.

The room was amazingly spacious with a fantastic view over the Arno River. The location for breakfast grand and the selection plentiful.

The staff truly fantastic, helpful, courteous and always with a smile.

The location is a hop and skip away from all of the main sites and the concierge are on hand to guide you in the right direction to some beautiful authentic restaurants.

Florence is filled with heritage and stunning architecture and if you want a hotel that mirrors all that is amazing about the city then you have found it here at the St Regis.

My only regret, I didn't have champagne at the bar on the first night, the second night the bar was closed for a private function, but then I suppose I have something to come back for!

A hotel that literally takes luxury to another level!

Room Tip: A view of the Arno river is a must!

A beautiful hotel - lovely good sized rooms, the Wintergarden bar was an elegant and impressive room with great cocktails. Excellent, friendly service. They obviously put a lot of effort into the look and feel of the hotel, with big bunches of fresh flowers everywhere and everything very clean and tidy. Nice location.
