Owner description: Love Duets’ Concert: you do not have to be a lover of Italian Opera to enjoy this wonderful evening. It’s set in a small church from 1800’s. You have a piano, soprano & tenor performing Opera’s love song and Italian love songs. The setting and performance is overwhelmingly powerful. You’ll be moved to tears by the emotions. Not to be missed.

“Madame Butterfly”

We had a great time. We enjoyed the setting and the ambience. The actors were great and it was nice that you could so easily see the emotions of the actors, which was really helpful in interpreting the events of the opera. The only problem was that it as kind of weird to see a play based in 1940's Japan set in an Anglican church in Italy. It as overall really great, and the staff was really friendly and inviting.

“Quite nice but touristy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2013

Touristy / commercial, but a nice introduction to the most famous opera arias. If you know opera well then you may not enjoy this so much, but it's a decent intro.

“Wasnt for me.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

I don't know how to rate it. I Wasn't a fan of opera but decided to go give it a try...especially since I was in Italy. It was boring for me. I can appreciate the talent but that's about it.

“Great; Wonderful; Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013 via mobile

This is one of the best evening activities in Florence - lasts about 1-1/2 hours and is charming and fun. Not necessary to sit in the slightly higher priced first two rows. You might want to eat first but there are a couple of nearby trattorias that are open late (see my other reviews). Even though I am not an opera buff I enjoyed myself immensely - well worth the time and moderate expense. Would definitely do this again and highly recommend it. You can get tickets on line.

“Bella e elegante”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

We had a wonderful evening of opera at the Limonaia di Villa Strozzi. Franz Moser is the ultimate host and the opera singers performing La Traviata were amazing. Operas are only performed at Villa Strozzi during the summer months but there are operas held twice a week at St. Mark's church on Via Maggio all throughout the year. This is a "must do" experience while in Florence. The cost is reasonable, the setting is intimate and the quality of the performers is impressive. The acoustics are excellent in the church. This is an experience you will remember long after attending. We look forward to attending future performances.
