“Alway happy to come back.”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

This is not first time we stay at the Villa Cora, but each time we come back, we enjoy the fact we find continuity in the staff, a service and facilities that are top including free shuttle to the city centre. What changed this time vrs pevious stays is the bfst - now served to meet your desire - and including some original top products. The choice of menu, the flexibility to adapt that one and the wine list for the other meals was also a nice surprse. We enjoy coming back, but each time we also realize that the team did an effort to serve their guest even better than before.

We returned to Villa Cora after a lovely holiday last year and were completely bowled over by how really lovely the hotel and its staff are.

We were welcomed so warmly and many of the staff recognised us from last year. Everyone is just so very kind and helpful - they really do want you to have a good time.

We were upgraded to a suite which was amazing especially as we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Read my review from last year for the finer details but I just really wanted to put on a review to say that having returned - it just gets better and better. We were only there for 5 nights but returned feeling completely and totally relaxed and spoilt - so good we have already booked a return trip for next year.

I really cannot praise this hotel enough - I have stayed in some very lovely hotels and this is simply the best.

Room Tip: They are all beautiful. The ones on the first floor are stunning and protected by Italian Heritage...

Oh my word. What a beautiful place...an elegant, historic building, gleaming pool, manicured lawns, fountains..

You could be forgiven for thinking that a hotel like Villa Cora would be stuffy, pretentious and intimidating (especially to the likes of us who could only afford it thanks to the BA sale!) but nothing could be further from the truth. Staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. There's a shuttle to the town centre and amazing views from the roof; a complimentary bottle of wine was in the room; the bed was comfortable, the breakfast delicious.

Two tips for Florence in general: take insect repellent as I got eaten alive, and ladies, don't wear shorts or strappy tops if you want to go into any cathedrals or churches as they won't let you in.

I could go on but really would sum this up as possibly the nicest place I've ever stayed, and would highly recommend it. Thank you to all the staff there for making it such a pleasant and relaxing break.

The staff is exceptional! The rooms are beautiful! Don't forget to go to the roof to see the city at night! It is on the other side of the river, but the bus is right out front, or an easy car ride in their coach! Great being able to come back to a quiet, beautiful place each night.

Room Tip: Rooms in the original building have tall windows and all school charm, beautiful!

We celebrated my daughters wedding at hotel villa Cora.
The service was out of this world, the professionalism of the staff was beyond expectation and the hotel itself and the rooms were absolute beauty.
I highly recommend it for vacation or celebrations.
We felt all our worries were lifted and we were held by bunch of professional people who their one intention was to be of service.
I'm sad the wedding is over but I sure would go back for vacation

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days in a mini suite. The difference between a suite and a double is overstated. The suite has more square footage, sure, and a sofa, but my advice is stick with a double.

The hotel seems a little disjointed. There are many spaces on the ground floor that seem unattended.
There is plenty of staff, all very polite and helpful, but they are congregated either at the front door or in the resturant.
There's no thriving bar in the main building. You need to walk to the pool building (which is great) and find some refreshment there. There's another building which houses the spa in the basement.
The finish in all areas is top notch, the complimentary shuttle to town is essential (the hotel is too far to walk on a regular basis), the resturant (also next to pool) is ok.
It was a tossup between this hotel and the 4 seasons. This hotel got it because trip advisor was suggesting it was half the price. By the time you get redirected to whichever website ...it isn't! It was actually dearer at 700+euro/ night...the place ticks all the boxes but just somehow not enough to wow me into thinking that the price justified the product.
Sorry villa cora but nah, at top dollar you need some more substance to go with the style.
