“Posh and Grand”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2013

This is a posh and grand square. Most notably the big tall archway which you often find yourself entering through to get into the square. In the centre of the square is a merry go round, which whilst we were there was the setting for a bride and groom to come after their wedding. There are a few posh restaurants in the square, one of which sprays out fine water from the ceiling when the weather is hot. So dining in that restaurant is a welcome relief from the heat. The square itself is one of the lesser busy squares. You can usually walk through it without people walking into you, walking in front of you and generally stopping you in your path. It is however visibly a really nice posh and grand square but once you have seen it once there is not that much to do there, so you will probably find yourself passing through to get to the Duomo, other shopping areas, or the touristy areas.

“Do be a tourist, it's ok.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2013

We enjoyed the sights and energy of the area.
Felt like "Hemingway" sitting with a glass of wine (ok, so he had something more) at the 2 large restaurants on it's edge.
The bathrooms are perfect (downstairs)

Handsome Piazza but compared to the rest of the old city, probably the ugliest spot. The only place (we found) to buy football tickets.

Central location between Duomo and Piazza Signoria. Terraces on both sides to enjoy coffe or icecream. Adjacent to the best shopping strip.

“Once there, Florence makes sense”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2013

Florence often feels like it is "almost full" with so many tourists but once you seat down to have the quintessential aperitif at Piazza della Repubblica, surrounded by Italians madly moving their hands as they speak, the city shines. It is the perfect place to "chilax" and soak up the unique atmosphere of this amazing Italian city.
