“A must see”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Ponte vecchio is a must see if you are in Florence. Knowing the history of the bridge make it even more enjoyable. It was crowded but still a top attraction for me.

“The bridge is lovely, but the shops aren't!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Interesting old bridge with wonderful colors, but the shops on both sides are ruining the place. I would have enjoyed it more with less crowd and hassle. It's a pity to ruin such a historical pace with crowded touristic shops.

“Enjoy from a Distance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

The bridge itself is a crowd of tourists and mostly jewelry shops. This bridge is best enjoyed by admiring from near the Uffizi or even better from the other side of the river near Torre Barbadori with a guidebook that gives you its history. A Florence landmark that is a must see for first-time visitors.

“Just a crowded bridge”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

I'm impressed with the history of this bridge, but other than that it is nothing special.
Naff jewellery stores and tourists make it crowded at all times of day, with people pushing past and segweys trying to weave through over your toes.

For a great view on the river go sit on one of the neighbouring bridges instead, where the atmosphere is more peaceful and you can watch the sunset over this beautiful city.

“You will go through the bridge but stop on the embarkments for a short while”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

It's much more refreshing to spend a few minutes by the river, than run directly through the crowds on the bridge. Stop for a short while, take a few pictures and after Palazzo Pitti, come back on Ponte Santa Trinita to Piazza Santa Trinita to see also the other side of the bridge.
