Pretty romantic place to be at. Lot many tourists. View of bridges/river adds to the feel of romance. Lot many shops around. Pretty expensive place.

Another place not to miss in Florence but the crowds are awful. It is such a tight area full of high class jewellers shops and people trying to take photographs - very trying for the patience!

Soooo many people...worth the walk once. Skip the gelateria on the side of bridge..way over priced. We saw Jehovah's Witness and Hare Krishnas ...and people from everywhere. So crowded. Oldest bridge since was not destroyed in war or flood.

It's important to get a first view from further up the river bank so you can gaze on this iconic feature of Florence. Then walk towards it and meander across ... the shops are interesting, mostly aimed at tourists of course. But look closely at the buildings themselves and realise that citizens, shoppers, have been doing this for hundreds of years. Although crowded, I loved the sense of place, the whole atmosphere of being there. Walking along the bridge, you become aware that you are part of cultural history and the life of Florence.

it is a unique piece of architecture in Florence/Firenze, a definite must see.
however the herds of tourists and the weird shops do not make it a nice experience.
I rather suggest visiting at night (as well)
