“Beautiful!”

The square in front of it is full of the wonderful odour of the roses in it. The Santa Croce has a pretty and majestic facade. It's worth being in fron of it at least!

“Great History, Average Audio Guide”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

You cannot miss Santa Croce - there are so many famous people buried here, which makes for a very interesting visit. The only problem is that there is absolutely NO information about the tombs once you are in the church! Literally not even a sign. This conundrum led us to buy the 6e audio guide.... which was cutesy and fun, but provided no historical background. I guess it was better than nothing, but in an ideal world I would have bought or brought a guidebook with some more detailed information about Santa Croce and would have just done my own guided tour.

Go late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. You don't need more than 1 hour to complete this activity.

“Off the beaten path but worth it”

Beautiful and worth finding. The quiet courtyard of the monastery a lovely respite from the chaos of sightseeing.

“Beautiful.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

Absolutely beautiful and seemingly far quieter than many other sights in Florence, or we were very lucky! This is a treat for the eyes and soul. The knowledge that so many great artists rest here makes this a fascinating place to visit when in Florence.

“Beautiful History at it's finest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

Visiting Santa Croce you will be able to see the Tombs of Galileo, Michelangelo, Florence nightengale, and many more famous Florentines. Clearly a must see when visiting Florence, it is only 6 euro's to get in, the self guided tour is an additional 8 euro's but the narration is easy to follow and use.
