6€ for an entrance TO A CATHEDRAL! A church, a building that was build from the money of people to serve the people. That price is propostrous! And, off course, no student reduction! Plus, the only thing you can see are those graves of famous people, but you can see that on Pére-Lachaise or Vyšehrad for free. Besides of that, there is nothing inside, really.

Came across this while wandering, from the front expected a small church. Inside was stunning and so interesting with all the tombs including Galileo. Short queues and cheap entry.

Italy has so many churches. This one is beautiful but have a guide to explain all the art. Every church has someone famous buried there. Popes are buried in these churches.

During our short stay in Florence, we never intended visiting Santa Croce but were advised by a family member who missed out on seeing it when they were in Florence and regretted it. We made the time to visit and it was the highlight for me. The Basilica itself is beautiful but the fact that icons of history are buried inside the church and adorned so majestically was truly spiritual. please do not miss it.

The Basilica itself is beautiful. It was especially meaningful to see Michelangelo's tomb after admiring so much of his work elsewhere in Florence. At the end he was no more than human, as were Galileo, Rossini, Machiavelli, Dante and the others entombed here. We were given a map of the Basilica noting the locations of the tombs. That and a guidebook were sufficient for our needs. Santa Croce is covered by the Firenze Card.
