“Excellent location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2013

situated between the Duomo and the Uffizi on Via del Calzaluoli, you could not find a more convenient location in Firenze. The staff is friendly and the free WiFi has a strong signal. A nice breakfast is included. The major sites and excellent dining (and shopping) are all very close. The train station is also within walking distance if you are reasonable with your luggage.

Room Tip: Firenze is a busy city, with hard surfaces building to building, so noise can not be avoided. From...

Had a wonderful break in Florence. The hotel Maxim made it even better. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. They will help you to book any trips that you may be interested in. The hotel is in an excellent position, and only10 mins walk from the train station. Breakfast was good, with lovely warm, fresh Croissants every morning.

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the road where the shops are will be quieter.

Actually, I had done the reservation at Maxim Hotel, however I was rellocated to Axial Hotel, which is in the same building but is 3 Stars. Great Hotel, wonderful bedroom and bed, bathroom inside the room. Great Shower! Everything very clean, great breakfast. The location is excellent, in the main shopping street in Firenze, close to all attractions. Highly recomended.

Room Tip: Dont try to go to the hotel driving, take a cab.

The hotel needs a little rehauling, but the position and the reasonable price make up for it. The lady at the front desk, Ida, is an absolute darling and very helpful. Had a one night stay and was
pleased with it. The position of the hotel is fenomenal.

I stayed at this hotel for one evening only and found myself immersed into a fantasy film of the 60's,,,

I stayed for one night and had an early start missing breakfast, so cannot comment on that aspect. The room was small and mine facing Via Calzaiuoli was noisy during the night with road sweepers and cars driving through.

The room was clean although the toilet was cramped and the 'wet room' shower worked badly flooding the toilet floor.

I enjoyed the old feel of the place and the friendly staff, who where very helpful with our parking arrangements.

Simple basics, if you want luxury this is NOT the place to book.

I loved it for what it tried not to be.

This one was the worse hotel of the lot during our trip to Italy. In fact the other hotels (in Rome and Venice) were quite nice.
We traveled during winters (Jan end 2010) and it was COLD. However, the heater in the room was turned on only after a certain time in the evening. That was quite annoying.
The room for three was big enough (though the extra bed was very uncomfortable), but the bathroom really tiny!
Besides that, the breakfast was decent and the location fantastic. It's literally 2 mins from Duomo. However the fact that we couldn't come back to the comfort of a warm room on a cold wet day just didn't work for us.
