“Amazing...”

We had been to many museums in Rome before coming here, and at that point were pretty sure if you'd seen 200 sculptures, you'd seen them all (why did we pay so much just to see this one sculpture?!)....we were so, SO wrong.
Everyone is familiar with the iconic image of Michelangelo's David, but when you see it in person, you'll be speechless. Neither of us had ever been so captivated by a single work of art....once you see it, you'll understand why its such a big deal.
In short, its worth it. Don't miss it.

“Staggering Beauty”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

This is among the most glorious achievements of mankind. Don't miss it. It can be crowded, but with a little concentration, you can manage to tune it all out to focus on what a stunning work the David is.

“Statue of Michelangelo's David”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

Whilst at The Galleria Accademia the highlight of the visit was to see the magnificence of Micheangelo's David. It is extraordinary, The enormity 16ft tall and the attention to detail in the carving is simply incredible. The veining, curvature and precision is what makes you want to keep looking (as so many do). By all means David is not the only statue or piece of Art to take in, For there are many other statues/frescoes and oil paintings etc to behold. But it is well worth a visit to witness probably one of the most famous carved statues ever.

I visited the statue of david and was absolutely blown away. The size, the detail perfection. This is worth the wait in line even for a person that may not like art or museums i suggest if your in florence even for a day see the statue of david.
